I noticed my sky bill had got to £90 a month. I called sky, to see how the bill had got so high...

I noticed the guy had a Geordie accent so asked what football team he supported, turns out it was the lads.

After half an hour chatting about safc, my bill got cut to £60.

Turns out, you are not all idiots and I was wrong.

Sky will reduce anyone's bill who questions it, as is their policy.

He probs got paid for fleecing half an hour off you to an 0845.

Sounds like the guy worked in retentions who generally get paid on conversion rate. The bloke would have been filling his boots over the long call!

I used to think Wearside seemed like a decent lad.

I used to think Marty was a decent manager.

This never actually happened though, these calls are monitored and he'd have been pulled by his supervisor <doh>

You don't know enough about Sunderland to start a decent thread, never mind talk for 30 minutes.

'Geordie accent' so he must be a Geordie then, no doubt you can pinpoint the difference between Geordie, Mackem, Durham, etc ....... this sounds like another of your 'I met a local, in a Spanish gym, and it turned out he was a fanatical Sunderland supporter and we chatted for ages' stories <whistle>

I remember asking you to provide proof but you couldn't. You then claimed he spoke English so I suggested you got him to post on here so we could all benefit from his 'extensive knowledge' that you claimed for him.

You spat your dummy out when you realised you'd been busted.

Perhaps you'll drop really lucky next time, get chatting for an hour to a Harry Redknapp hero worshipper and get your bill down to £30 <ok>

This would be a very difficult story to make up.

But if you choose not to believe it, I won't lose sleep over it, nor will my bill go back up, so I'm happy.

It was just ironic that after my thread that I branded people idiots, I found someone who wasn't. And felt I should apologise.

If you're looking for a story that's not true. Find someone that steamed into 30 Newcastle fans armed with tools, solo, with a fire extinguisher.

Or perhaps someone who paid a nurse £6 for a hand job

    <laugh>
