Bri, Tel, Smug and VJ are all among my favourite, all time, posters on here and I would love to see them back on...
Have a look round some of the other Club forums and get idea's from them. A popular one on the Hull forum is the R.I.P Thread which changes every month (R.I.P. April etc) featuring the deaths of well known people all over the world. Some are hellishly interesting. When Peter Boyle (the Father of Raymond in "Everybody Loves Raymond" died there was a lovely story that when he got married very late in life he was stood before the celebrant and was asked where his witnesses were. He replied that he didn't know he needed any and after being told he couldn't get married without them he ran outside and stopped the first two people he saw and asked them if they would act as witnesses. They kindly agreed and when they signed the certificate he was astonished to learn that they were John Lennon and Yoko Ono. After he died it was however confirmed later that he was actually a personal friend of John and it was arranged.
What works for one board doesnt mean it will work on another. The Liverpool board for example. Their music thread has over 25000 replies. This board struggles to get 20/30 on music threads. Their general chat has 56000 replies.
I get what Tiger is saying though. For those who venture over to other boards (I dont) and if they get an idea for a thread then that can only be good. If it dies on its arse then so be it. I think Crumble got the General chat idea from Norwich board.... could be wrong though.
You are not wrong 'Comm' and I guess it's what sort of music you like. I am an old 'real' Rock'n'Roll fan as well as a Country Music fan and I guess one would be too old and the other not to many people's taste. Same with films. The main point though is 'football', the Club, the Owners, Management, Players and Fans. The ever dead-set reliable 'sources' (usually someone who knows someone who works in the shop where Sam buys his chewing gum from) and the incredible rumours that come out. We'll see what happens in the close season and what crops up.
He did. Although we already had the nsfw thread for years. But that ended up just random pics and gets resurected from time to time. I like the general chat thread. The mags one has over 27000 replies.
Another 2 weeks (when the prediction league finishes) you will have seen the last of "TigerRoo on these boards. I received permission from the owners and some help from 'Pops' I was allowed to register under "BlackCatRoo" which I will use very shortly - see "Test' post following.
There have been many times when I am having my morning 'heart starter' (usually about noon) and come on these boards and read some of the tantrums between fellow posters - it make my day.
Oh you'll get used to them. Wait till you try and decipher some of my pissed posts. Good luck with that.
We've found something we have in common "Com" I often come on the boards after I've been out for the night and am 'eight sheets to the wind' more often than not though I get up early and can't believe what I've posted so am able to delete them. If I can't I blame the "Child-Bride" for 'hacking' my computer.
dead right mate, lots of good ideas on other boards, i tend to have a peak on the dark side every now and again. I also look at the boards of who we are playing next to see what ****e they are spewing out, sometimes a good read and other times just a waste of time. I left a thread on the Stoke site and got a few replies but to be honest they are very quiet. Will have a gander over on that Chelski site before the weekend, com goes over and chats to the mags a fair bit, i reckon he is a closet mag
TBH, you only want people on the board who agree with you, laugh at your posts and want the same content as you. Anyone who doesn't will be badgered until it becomes more trouble than it's worth. Never mind, you and Albert will always have each other.
Plenty disagree with Comm mate. I've told him to **** off on numerous occasions but he's still my mate.
