Not too sure about this one. In terms of a straight swap I doubt he brings any more than Cunningham did. He did do well for Leicester City in the Premier League, so he might do well for us, but as a move it doesn't make a lot of sense. Sounds like a panic buy to me.

If he's cool with not starting, his experience could be great, especially since others are reporting that Cotterill has been a long-time fan of his. If he comes on low wages he could be a great sub, or even someone to challenge Bryan a bit.

No thanks, high wages, and won't want to drop to Championship to be backup to a 21 year old. Got to be better options out there. Why buy Ives if they don't want to use him as backup.

I'd imagine he hasn't come in to be in Bryan/Ives' position.

It sounds like we bought Ives to be a barometer of success for the academy. Ives is a solid player at conference level, so if other players are surpassing him it's likely that our academy prospects are capable of playing in the Football League. The same goes for players like John Akinde. I doubt we bought them with a view of them going directly into the first team. They've played at a much lower level than we have played.

We do lack a bit of experience - and wages of experienced players tend to be higher

I heard him on the Sky programme on Saturday mornings (Soccer AM) and he seemed a decent lad
