Did he play well by the way? I've literally just seen the two goals, that's it. I feel quite liberated by it to be honest.
United could have had a hatful as they completely dominated (history of the season). Zlatan missed many chances but as it should be others like Martial chipped in. United are probably playing their best football yet. For me, if Martial is on form and playing, we have the cutting edge. Zlatan, mata, mikhi Martial, Pogba and Herrera- my midfield and attack,
I've got to agree with Christian, I'd be playing Mata instead of Carrick myself. Mkhitaryan would be off the right. Mid three is Pogba, Herrera & Mata Front three is martial, Zlatan & Mkhy
Definitely Mata in games we expect to dominate and win. Carrick should be used against teams which can match us in CM and away from home in Europe. Would also like to see Rashford or Martial played through the centre against packed defences - Zlatan was dropping so deep against Watford he wasn't really contributing anything up front. A player who can run from deep at pace would give us something more, but Mourinho seems to persist with his man crush on Zlatan regardless.
I have to agree, with the amount of chances we've created this season, I believe Rashford would score more goals than Zlatan in equal number of games. Could we play two strikers?
Yes, in one category. But overall, Hendo does not come close. Not even in the top 10. More shtty stats for you:
Not sure what formula they use to get those scores. Essentially they are saying he's been the third best player this season because he passes the ball to his own team quite a lot?
And Firmino is higher than Zlatan That stat alone undermines the validity of these stats. Same as the fools who compiled the EFL team of the season included Sturridge and omitted Zlatan. They were ridiculed and had to quickly hide it.
Old thread, but wanted to add this... Definitely a mighty flop according to most experts. But according to stats, he was one of the top performers in the league in the second half of the year.
He was considered a flop by those "experts" because at £89M he should be scoring hat tricks and getting a dozen assists every game. Expect the same with Lukaku unfortunately.
The stats are probably skewed somewhat mind, a CM without Kante and a GK who was consistently picking the ball out of the back of his net. Milner at LB, which I presume will be because of the 32 penalties he scored.
Don't just look at that, they have Firmino as the best right winger and even more dumb Otamendi is the top performing defender . How the **** does otamendi get in there
