I have no doubt he will eventually win things. Put me in charge of a club with players like Aguero and Silva, and give me a bottomless budget with which to strengthen the squad, and I could guarantee you eventual trophies. I dont think his problem will be getting players to play how he wants. More like his opponents wont play how he wants THEM to play. Tika taka has an easy counter, the Rope-a-dope. Its tried and tested, if he tries to get City to play like Barca, it wont end well for him.
If he has a squad like he did at Barca he could play however the fck he wants tbh, he'd destroy everyone. He certainly outplayed plenty of English teams. Lets be honest, if he was managing Barca in the Prem during 2008 to 2013 he would've probably won the league 3 times at least. Lets just see him build the squad he wants. Then we can judge him. I don't particularly want him to do well, but I'm not going to let some bias jingoistic bollox cloud my judgement.
He's clearly a very good manager but I've maintained he's not worthy of the top notch tag. He's been at two of the best clubs around previously, Fat ****ing Sam could have won trophies there, never mind anyone's Nan!!! He needs a couple of transfer windows and tonne of cash before we really see what he can do.
I get what you mean, I won't Judge him till he spends at least 250 mill in any given transfer window, hey, fair's fair.
7 mins to edit and that's the best you come up with! He'll be spending double that and rightly so. You might get some of that for Alderweireld, Alli and Kane so be grateful. About £38 - £40m if you're lucky. You should be happy Spurlock.
CFC to the FFP is currently prising open the planks of wood off the entrance to his cave, and hibernating for the next few days. The rats will be pleased to see him again.
I'm no pro, but it was obvious to me at the start of the season that City's defence was not up to how Guardiola wants to play. Additionally, at least half of them are past their sell by date and too slow. Stones makes a piss poor sticking plaster too!...
