One - if we win all of our last five games, and reach 77 points, that will almost certainly see us into the playoffs - Norwich would need three wins in their last four to stay above us. The first part of this scenario is unlikely. Two - if we win four of our last five games, and I consider that possible if the reintroduction of Delap sparks an improvement in form, then we have a reasonable chance of getting into the playoffs - our 74 points would mean Norwich would fail to overtake us if they draw two and win one of their last four games. Both halves of this scenario are a stretch, but far from impossible. So it’s not quite over yet. Sorry!
Not saying you are guilty, but is there danger of too much expectation on Delap's shoulders? As good a player as he is, he / we weren't prolific even before he had 3 months or whatever it is out.
I feel for Connolly as he seemed to be getting himself together before his injury. Since he's come back he looks so different. I can't quite put my finger on it, but it seems mental as well as physical. It's very unlikely we'll keep him around, but I do hope he's okay within himself.
The way Connellys head went down when Sharp was waved on in front of him as a sub last night was very noticable as it was on Saturday at Cardiff. He is not a happy bunny, which is probably one of the reasons he isn't getting picked. Can only imagine what he's like in training ?
Three - forget it, Alf Moyet sang this week. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
If he's really bothered about getting on the pitch, he should probably do something about his diet/exercise, he's going to be rounder than the ball soon.
Its his head thats the problem He will regret it in a few years about what his career could have been
You sound like the Herbert presenter on Blunderside on Saturday who asked Peter Swann if the playoffs were still on...I could hear Swann sigh, before basically telling him politely to behave. Swann went up in my estimations....We've got two chances...Slim and fecking none, and Slim just left town.
Like the majority I think play off hope is over but then if Middlesbrough had a chance of play off before last night when they were on 61 points after 41 games why don't we have a chance on 62 points after 41 games. I'm hoping Delap makes the difference not just him playing but the boost to the rest of the team and the crowd
Win our game in hand and we're on 68 points. West Brom are currently on 72 but are away to Leicester next. If we can keep winning we could be a point behind them with 2 games to play.
If we win all our games we will finish 6th, I'm convinced of that. Would mean that WBA need 5 points from: Leicester (A) Sheff W (A) Preston (H)
