The Chairboys travel to Fratton Park for their 7th league game of the season against 4th placed Pompey who after 3 games were themselves languishing near the bottom of the league but maximum points from their next 3 games have see them climb to within touching distance of the top. Gaz has the same injuries to deal with as the magnificent 7 are still several weeks or months away from returning to action but Pierre should return after cleaning his head. I would have loved to be going to this one but I'm on holiday in south Devon 15 about 15 miles from Plymouth wrong bloody port but I expect no demand a better result than last week but in the end we will be lucky to get a point
There is no doubt that we are better away from home but I won't state the obvious as to why that might be. Two tough games in 7 days, against high flyers Luton and Portsmouth (games in which could have gracefully accepted defeat under any circumstances), provide more ammunition for the GA head hunters who will then be out in full force next week to ensure a humiliating defeat at Adams Park against six hitters Stevenage. Praying for at least a draw at Fratton Park but it's a tall order
Our huge crowd seems to work against us sometimes, visiting teams quite often up their game in the loud atmos.
I am going to this one hopefully they will play the same as the first half against Crawley but score this time. I am glad to get the last two games out of the way, rather play them this time of the season instead of away in April
Have you got many fans travelling to Portsmouth, Phil ? I'm looking forward to the game, but hope you don't unleash "The Beast" against us. Even at his age he can cause us problems ! Have a safe journey, and let's hope it's an exciting game.
Where are you staying in South Devon, Guy ? We are travelling to Dartmouth next Thursday 15th, for just over a week's stay. Don't visit Plymouth, they're a funny lot there
Hi Woopert Fine thanks. No I don't. The last game I got over for was the play off final. Gutted at the time but relieved ever since Unlikely to get over much during the football season these days. My grandson plays for Saint Lo under 12s so I watch him every week. He has training with those on Wednesdays and Fridays and he is also at a football academy. And now I have started training with the Saint Lo veteran squad; that will be a laugh if I get into the team and the family come to watch me How are you?
I would expect 400-500 from our support its a day out in Pompey & Southsea & easy to travel too as well
I can't see us getting anything from this game. Our only hope is maybe if it stays 0-0 till the last 10 and we pinch one from a corner. Still not panicking yet.
Ffs Thompson and Hayes start up front, when will Ainsworth get it into this thick head Thompson is not good enough for League 2. Wood starts as well so we're ****ed! 4-0 Pompey.I
Maybe he has a plan mowgli. Maybe he is hoping to keep it tight and go in at half time 0-0. Then bring on some strikers with 20 mins to go. That's if we have any that are fit.
They can do it when they don't have disgruntled fans on their back and are allowed to concentrate of playing football
