Confidence gained from three draws against good league sides will give them enough belief to win a tight game 2-0

I've been to Vale Park twice the first time was in the 3rd Division play-off in 1989 where we lost 1-0 and the second is where I had my fist taste of watching a game from an executive box I can't remember how my old man acquired the tickets but it was a different experience we lost that game 3-2.

Take a look at who will be the man in the middle of our clash with Port Vale

Dean Whitestone will be the man in the middle.

He will be assisted by Kevin Morris and Matthew Parry, while Simon Mather will act as fourth official.

Name of the man in the middle doesn't mean anything Gashead79 should we be concerned by him

With Sweeney playing so well with Lockyer and Burns waiting to make his debut and he looked very good in the central league match I wonder where that leaves Salter-Clarke, being recalled to Chelsea possibly and nobody seems to mention Hartley anymore.
Would like the club to make an effort to sign Sweeney permanently in the summer as part of the improvement and going forward as a club

Steve Yates likes the words A Very Good Start doesn't he, do you think he has caught the DC syndrome of one game at a time

We take a look at Bristol Rovers opponents for this weekend, Port Vale.

    Team News:
Rovers are without defender Peter Hartley, who remains sidelined with a long-term injury.

Steve Yates' View: "It's been a tough month for us so far but we've got some great results against Bradford and Sheffield United so confidence is high.
"We've become a lot more solid over the past few weeks and we need to keep that going against a struggling Port Vale side."

Opposition: Port Vale have been struggling over the past few weeks and have only picked up one win in their last 11 fixtures. Last time out The Valients lost 2-0 to Millwall at the Den on Tuesday evening thanks to goals from Aiden O'Brien and Jake Cooper.

Dangerman - Tyler Walker: The Nottingham Forest trainee Walker, joined Port Vale in January, four days after his recall from Stevenage. He scored on his Vale debut with a "superb 20-yard strike" for The Valiants against Bury before also going on to win a penalty in a 2–2 draw.
Walker was also on the scoresheet in his next game against then League leaders Scunthorpe in a 3-2 loss however, the youngster hasn’t scored in his three outings since.

Last Time Out: Rovers secured all three points against Port Vale at the Mem back in September as a goal from Ellis Harrison and a Jermaine Easter penalty capped a 2-1 victory.

Tickets: Supporters will be able to purchase tickets on the day.

Betting: League sponsors SkyBet are offering odds of 23/20 for a Rovers victory, a draw priced at 5/2 and a Port Vale win at odds of 11/5.

    THREE TO WATCH

    #26 - Tyler Walker - Striker

The Nottingham Forest trainee Walker, joined Port Vale in January, four days after his recall from Stevenage.

    #4 - Remie Streete - Defender

The young defender has been ever present in the Port Vale side this season despite the change in management.
Streete first joined Port Vale on a one-month loan deal in October 2014, before signing permanently in the summer of 2015 after being released by Newcastle United.
The Valiants man has made 35 appearances so far this season scoring an impressive six goals in all competitions, however, the defender did limp out of Vale’s loss to Millwall on Tuesday evening so may be a doubt for this weekend's game.

    #10 - JJ Hooper - Striker

Port Vale signed striker JJ Hooper in August 2015. Having come through the ranks at Premier League side Newcastle United, Hooper is a powerful centre forward with a prolific strike-rate at the lower levels but is struggling in front of goal this season, only hitting the back of the net twice in all competitions.
Hooper returned to former club Northampton Town this season on a five-month loan on 22 August.
He scored his first goal for the "Cobblers" in a 6–0 victory over Harrow Borough in an FA Cup First Round match at Sixfields on 5th November.
He made eight starts and five substitute appearances for the "Cobblers", before being ruled out with a thigh injury in November and returning to Vale Park in January when Michael Brown replaced Ribeiro as manager.
