FT: Basingstoke 1-3 Wycombe. "A commanding performance capped off by goals from Bean, Stewart & Sellers before Ray's consolation"

I found the live text updates but I reckon in the UK you could have watched it live.

Doesn't sound too promising does it. I hope Gaz has instructed his players to just try to pass the ball around, try long balls and not to risk 50/50 tackles and don't try too hard to get the ball off the opponents. I'm sure that was what he must have instructed against Avranches. We'll see next Saturday what they've got when push comes to shove. I assume we have no injuries. Has Gaz explained yet why Hayes and ??? didn't play.

Not a great display today. Really incoherent display actually. First half with no real striker up front the ball just didn't stick. Although Thompson was apparently playing through the middle with Banton and Wood supporting..
First 20 mins we looked hungrier and were first to the ball, but the shots grew into the game.
Second half saw us make no immediate changes and the game continued in the same pattern. The back four looked pretty strong. Ingram made two or three really good saves, but we seemed to lack anything clinical up front. Infact we hardly had a shot on target in the second half until 75 minutes. Holloway and Kretch came on, as did Harriman. We then scored soon after and created more than we had for most of the game.
    Stand out players....
    JJ is a class act.
Pierre looked pretty awesome as always at he back.
    Ingram made some excellent saves

Worryingly, Sido looked knackered second half and was often caught out of position. O'Nien came on and threw himself about a lot (would have been booked in any other game) with no real end product and Banton was really hot and cold.

In some ways I wish I hadn't gone as it made me feel a tad depressed that we couldn't do better against a team below us in the football pyramid. However, I don't think we saw what will be GA's starting line up and I have been foiled often by pre season games before. Will be interesting to see next weekend who starts, subject to everyone being fit. I wouldn't anticipate changes to the back 5, but Sido will need to watch out as Harriman is a good replacement.
Looking at Ingram, I wouldn't be surprised if he was off to pastures new either in Jan or at the end of the season. Even some of the shots fans were commenting on how good he was.
