Dear All, I will be over this weekend for what I consider our make-or-break game as I can't see any points in the final two games, my prediction league stats doesn't exactly back this up, this will be my first game in three years! I am coming over with a good Dutch friend Dan who loves football and is actually an Ajax supporter but I have kind of converted him to an R's fan, at least for now and we are only coming from The Netherlands. In his opinion it's more exciting to watch a match where something depends on it! I know what he means but I would rather watch a game with the knowledge that we are going to stay in the Championship. Anyway, if anyone would like to meet before or dare I say a post-match celebration I am planning on visiting the Crown & Sceptre before the match or any other drinking hole where some of you hang out. If you can make it please let me know or if you have any other suggestions. Also, can anyone recommend a local curry house or another place that offers good food.
From the club It is near the first anniversary of 14-year-old QPR fan Teddy Disson-Meade’s tragic passing. Can we remember Teddy on 14 minutes! R’s fans, please show your support for one of our own with a minute’s applause on 14 minutes against Preston on Saturday. It is the first anniversary of Teddy’s passing. His family and friends will be at the game so let’s show them he is still in our thoughts. RIP Teddy
Beth you just scared the life out of me 'FRIDAY' I thought they changed the fixture date! But it is a nice thought.
Thanks Flan..it.came from the club and copied without thinking. The PNE match is 5.15 this Saturday. Leeds match is on the following Friday at 8pm
Ahhh, the home match against PNE. As soon as the fixture list was announced last June, this was the match I planned to attend. And planned all fall until we started to see a few required repairs on this house. Currently looking at about £10000-12000 at least, the money just isn't there for a trip over. I actually picked this match as the one we might need to get a result from to stay up and I did want to be there for that - but afraid it isn't happening. Best of luck to the Hoops and all those attending the match. COYRs
women cars and houses soon as you get one of them you have to spend money on them just spent 40 grand on a new roof now apparently the bathrooms need doing
We've got a table booked from 2.45pm. I'm still without a phone, but if you message me on here we can get in touch. Look forward to seeing you tomorrow.
Me too, still can't believe you chose a trip to Mexico over a cold rainy day in West London, oh and a pint! Hope your having a great time.
Not that local, but best curry I've had in West London has been from The Samrat, on Pitshanger Lane. It's the one recommended by Peter Crouch in his podcast. We've been having curry from there for thirty + years, and it is very good. Enjoy the game...you're coming over for a cracker!
......and I would have liked to join the pair of you again in W12 as we did November 20, 2013 at the Charlton Athletic match. My partner, Wendy, is also biting at the bit (ha, ha) to watch our R's in live action for the very first time. Perhaps we could have hopped on Maple's private jet for the trip over? Oh well, perhaps next season whether or not we are still in the Championship or League 1 if we screw up again today. Back in Oct? 1966 when my Dad took me to my very first R's game at B&B, all decked out with a QPR rosette (remember those?) and and ARP wooden rattle painted by Dad in blue & white (a potential dangerous weapon), we were just Third Division, but we had Rodney Marsh, scoring a couple in 3-1? victory, with Dad scaring me a little with all his yelling and the interactions with the B&B fans surrounding us on the terraces.
I have fond memories of the free pints in Amersfoort when the PSV friendly got called off. Us two, the Dutch Superhoops and the Norwegian R's all got sloshed and fell out of the pub. Happy memories. Enjoy your day and bring 3 points back to Utrecht with you.
How did you make out with the curry meal? The suggested location sounded great, on my bucket list for my next R's visit with Wendy so she gets to witness St. Jude's "lost causes" in action.
