The new season is only 11 days old and we are going into our 4th game already and its the long trek to the north west Lancashire coast for a game at the Globe Arena against the Shrimps who are now captained by Peter Murphy but sadly for him he is out with a injured knee for 3 months we have our own injury problems with both Anthony Stewart and Danny Rowe both looking doubtful for the midweek game so Sido may have to play alongside Pierre at the back but it does mean all the squad is getting game time and once again we will not have a full complement on the subs bench. Having seen both league games we look very strong defensively and with Gary Thompson getting his Chairboy account started with a brace we have two goal scorers who will get into double figures three hopefully if Holloway can have an injury free season. Having had our automatic promotion scuppered by the Shrimps back in April revenge is the order of the day and I expect the lads to return south with at least a point. coyb
What with Gaz preferring a 4-4-2 in away games I'm guessing Ingram Harriman. Sido. Pierre. JJ Banton. O'Nien. Bean. Wood Hayes. Thompson Which looks strong to me
It would be nice to stay top. I notice the 2 teams we have beaten are bottom but one and bottom but two. I hope that hasn't given us a false impression. Orient looks to be our biggest test early season. Fingers crossed for another 3 points tonight

Not proving to be a one season wonder are you. Great start to this one with 3 out of 3 so far league wise. Is this going to continue or are you going to fade away again as the season draws to a close????? This time I hope you hang in there. Well done so far.
Thanks Greeny. We are pretty resilient so far, however, the injuries are already mounting up with 2 centre backs out from the first two games and a striker down after last night. Don't think any are too serious, but we haven't managed a full subs bench yet and the slide towards the back end of the season is likely. He is still yet to seriously dip into the loan market, which will help us, but who knows as it is very early days. I think Banton is getting a serious dose of reality and what is expected under Ainsworth. He is lookin good as an impact sub, but lacks the drive to put himself out for the team yet and therefore hasn't been a starter. The rest of our new signings have embraced it though, so jury is still out with him. I have faith though in Ainsworth as he transformed Cowan Hall, who was similar on attitude and talent.
Best of luck with transforming Banton. This is one of those who flatters to deceive more often than not. The frustrating thing is he can be a match winner. He doesn't seem able to keep his head on the job for more than a match at a time. If anyone can channel his ability into consistency then they have a real player on their hands. Sadly sometimes those with the talent we mortals dream of just don't get it and waste it all. If Banton turns life around at any time don't be fooled into thinking the penny has dropped finally. He blows very hot and cold just when you think he has learned and got his head down.
As Gaz has said, our budget cannot afford to carry players, everyone is a first team player. So he must think he can get something out of him on a regular basis. Fingers crossed as from what I have seen he is a real talent.
