Sheff Wed will be in 6th spot on 50 pts if they hold their 2-1 lead at Birmingham. Hooper 2 late goals in 2 mins, great signing for them. They've done well after losing their keeper Westwood in the 18th min. Good late come back for Sunderland at Liverpool with a couple of late goals - Liverpool need Caulker!
Looking at his goal record, Kieran Trippier scores a rare 1st goal for Spurs to beat Watford 1-0 Charlie on the bench for Saints today against West Ham in the late game. S Sadly, that dream is over mate, although I would of loved another day out at Wembley. Maybe next season !
Glad we made our advantage in match play count today, with no smash & grab. Good play again by Smithies, keeping us in the match when required, also it seems by the Ipswich #2 keeper filling in for the injured Gerken. please log in to view this image Matt Phillips has scored six goals for QPR this season Matt Phillips' late strike helped QPR earn a well-deserved first home win under Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink against Ipswich in the Championship. Ipswich keeper Bartosz Bialkowski made three good saves from Junior Hoilett to deny the R's a first-half lead. The hosts continued to dominate in the second half before Freddie Sears missed a good chance to put Ipswich ahead. QPR finally sealed the three points when debutant Nasser El Khayati set up Phillips to head in at the back post. Freddie Sears could have equalised for the Tractor Boys in injury time, but Alex Smithies saved sharply to secure Hasselbaink's first win at Loftus Road, more than two months since he replaced former boss Chris Ramsey. The R's stay 13th in the table, while Mick McCarthy's Ipswich drop out of the play-off places after losing their second successive away league game. http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/35447261
Too late for play offs thanks to Benny but we can at least finish the season on a high. Much better today. Even Mackie did okay.
Well if it hadn't taken JFH so many games to pick up a home win and 3 pts we could have easily been within striking distance right now. When we beat Reading 1-0 on Dec 3rd, we had 26 pts from 19 games. In JFH's 11 games we have only gained another 13 pts, too many draws, late losses, that's why we have slipped down the table.
I was rather hoping that Ipswich would be in a bit of a pickle having lost their first choice keeper.
Unfortunately on this side of the pond we are not authorized to watch that. From 2 years ago, same result, lots of near misses too.
Quickly on train home. Team played really well. They were a team....conor sharp and nippy... Nasser....u Adel lovers will have a new hero....one who gives a damn....Polter was trouble to Ipswich. Hoillet played his heart out...Luongo and Faulin were great.. I saw a team I want to support... The green roots are definitely showing ... Nasser made the goal with some great trickery and Phillips came in like a bullet at the far post... Roll on Fulham
Forgot to say after doing nothing all match....Smithies saved us twice at the death.... I have my Rangers back
Much better today. Luongo best player today, first game in his proper position and he was great. Him and Faurlin the obvious centre midfield partnership finally happening. Most likely too late but finally the penny has dropped. Washington looked good. Phillips and Hoilett (playing for a contract) did well. Centre backs untroubled. Polter tried but was terrible would start Mackie next time. New lad had a trick or 2. Nutmeg someone and of course by accident or on purpose set up the winner. Would drop Hoilett. As soon as he gets a contract he'll stop trying. He won't be here next year. Get the new bloke in Deserved the win and with a terrible Ipswich side in 6th it really showed up how **** this league is and how much Ramsey and JFH under-performed with the squad TF and Co gave them
