Questions and problems with the new format

If, like many, you have questions about the new site, or are experiencing problems, please document them here.

Why have we kept the same useless mods on the new format?

I've sussed the ****ing swearing filter thingummybob, so I'm ****ing happy

 

Now if only I can post vids from my iPad i might start to warm to it...

 

Avatars are out of line when on a thread, they are too far right.

If users have not filled in a signature it reads NULL and would be better left blank. EDIT - Just worked out how to turn signatures off so I don't see them.

 

To embed videos, e.g. YouTubes etc.



Just click on the film strip button on the tools bar (second to the right from the smilies button). Then paste your YouTube URL into the box and click Embed. Robert should then be your mother's brother.

Click on your avatar at the top right of the page, then click preferences scroll to the bottom of that page and the option is there, under profanity content, so you can swear like a ****in' good'un

PM and "Conversations"

You may not be fully used to the new site. Instead of a PM system they use a "conversation" system

If you click on the little envelope at the top right you can then choose " to start a converstaion"

Type in the persons name (participitants) in the box. Put in a title for your message and then just type away in the message area.

When you have it sorted just click

Start a Conversation

at the bottom of the page.

To Edit any of your threads/comments if you make a mess after posting just click on Tools and select Edit

If after any edit you wish to preview just click on More Options then find Preview at the bottom.

 

On the front page all the thread titles, posters names and even the post reply button were blue earlier, they are now red....... This pisses me right off. I altered nothing so what caused it? How do I fix it?

 

Chippy. You need to change the display mode back to Grey mode
look down the page and you will see... Default Click on that and the Style Changer option pops up. Choose the Grey Alternative
