To me his finest hour was as Sean Finn in The Wild Geese.

    RIP Sir Roger.

Lots to remember about Sir Roger, but like Dave, I still think of him as The Saint. Sean Connery will always be my 007.

Live and Let Die was the first Bond movie I watched and in my opinion it is still the best.

For me it's 'From Russia with Love', Warky, but then I started at the beginning with 'Dr. No'. ;)

    Horrible news.

He was fantastic. Not my personal favorite Bond, I was always a Sean fan. Sir Roger was definitely my next favorite. I know Roger was always my Mums Fav bond. So sudden, and so horrible. RIP.

I'm wondering, maybe I'm wrong, but his children say he fought a short battle with cancer and he died in Switzerland. Digitas maybe?

He was 89 FML, so not totally unexpected. All the same, a sad loss.

We all have our favourite Bond and Bond movie but I think that if it weren't for Live and Let Die coming out in 1973 the whole Bond franchise would have died. Let's face it we all know what a disaster that George Lazenby was as Bond! Roger Moore saved the Bond franchise and helped turn it into what we know it as today.

RIP Roger, my favourite bond, the star of my two favourite bond films, live and let die and the man with the golden gun. 89 ain't a bad innings, another legend gone but never forgotten

    Bah!

I actually didn't think he was that bad (yes I know I'm probably the only one who thinks that) the story was pretty good too imo.

Moore was probably my least favourite because it was too cheesy for me personally. But still a good actor and person, sad to hear the news he passed away.

Sad to hear this news. Roger Moore was Bond for me when I first discovered the movies. Loved his quote when asked about his acting technique... "You just have to look at the lines, say them, and don't bump into the furniture."

Strangely enough, I watched Lazenby in 'On Her Majesty's Secret Service' a while back on a wet day and thought it was OK. Some might have been put off by his being incognito as an academic heraldry expert, but I thought he did that pretty well. Dianna Rigg was also good as the Bond girl he wanted to marry. It wasn't really Moore's fault that the films turned cheesy (good word for it), but the scripts turned far too jokey and stunt oriented for me, though they improved later.

Just to digress slightly but who is your favourite Bond Girl?

Mine would be Solitaire (Jayne Seymour) from Live and Let Die.

Good call Warky - I met her in Michigan a couple of years back and she is absolutely charming. I also liked Honor Blackman as Honey Ryder in Goldfinger.
