So if we sell Kodjia on for the reported 14 million, and with the close to 5 million we received for the sell on of Bolasie, who do you think we will bring in?

REALISTIC names only. I wonder how quickly we lose the tether of this thread with names like Rhodes! REALISTIC names. Not who you would love, but who is REALISTIC we could get.

Boring as it is, I'd rather bring in a freebie this close to the window closing. As prices will be inflated the closer to closing time and people will know we are sat on almost 20 mil!

Here's a few from me;

Dominic Solanke - Short term loan to pair with his old pal Tammy until so we have 3-4 months to find a suitable replacement.

Stephen Sessenong - Would annihilate this league.

Victor Anichebe - Would be a powerful hold up man to have Tammy play off him.

Longer shots and bigger risks but not unrealistic in my book are Daniel Osvaldo, Adebayor, Berbatov.

Any of those to get us to January where we can scout some real talent and bang for our buck.

 

January is the worst time for buying big.
The prices are often higher, and unless we are top 10 we are unlikely to attract a big fish.

You say realistic then name Berbotov and Adebayor? Two players I would not want anywhere near the club. (Watch one sign now and I look stupid).
But Tammys team mate wanted 50k a week in his contract negotiations, so I suspect he thinks he's better than he is.
And the other two from WBA don't get me excited either.
So let's talk about Rhodes
I would like to see Nahki Wells here as he has speed to fit into what we have. But rumours coming out today is we are looking at Johnny Russell from Derby for £3 million.

 

If I thought Chelsea would sell him, buy Tammy Abraham with this money. Truth is they will barely ever play him, they are not a club that promotes that many youth players, sell him to us and let us bring him along.
Most players out there that would be a good fit are likely on contracts so we would need a big offer to tempt anyone.

No No No to Berbatov or Adebayor, 2 men that encapsulate the modern day mercenary footballer!!

Money isn't everything - of course it helps, but those Billy big bollock players can pick and choose which club they go to.
We have no premiership pedigree - and although bloody annoying, the attitude of some of the Villa fans in their complacent posts talking about giving us a 4-0 dicking and being a 'fizzy pop' side (whatever that is) are typical of what the football world outside of our own fan base think of us.

No one else wants Berb and Ade so I don't think they are realistic and remember I said short term until January! But I am well on board with Nahki Wells, he would be a fantastic buy.

How is the last 2 days of the summer window any different to the whole January window Rickster? That scenario of inflated prices only really happens on a large scale with big prem clubs and in this country. I'd love to see some more international blood in this side, as most English players aren't worth a quarter of what they cost.

There is a guy I saw a few times earlier in the year at Bordeaux called Malcom, he looked like a real stand out player to me, admittedly amongst a lot of dog doo doo

He's too old. Great player and I would have snapped him up when we had the chance back during the days of the Maynard fiasco, but he must be late 30s now surely?

Would be a great signing, his pace and power paired with young Tammy could be devastating. However, if JK is worth £14M, I expect Florest would want at least £9-10M of that for him.
