For those who are convinced we are going down it may be worth a cheeky bet on that outcome to soften the blow.
I appreciate not many would back against the Toon but I do. I've covered myself handsomely on derby days over the past two years which has given me a little bit of solace.

£10 with Paddy Power will get you £250 + stake back if we do down.

Outside of the Toon who do you think will go down?

I think Leicester, Burnley and QPR.

Leicester, QPR and Hull, Burnley have far more fight than Hull do.

    Leicester, Villa, QPR

Villa - 11 goals this season. Pure relegation form.

Austin may save QPR if Hull don't start picking up points

The Mackems are hard to beat so will get enough points I reckon.
Hull will use the 3 points on Saturday as a springboard I reckon.

On the basis we havent been able to beat both leicester and Burnley in recent weeks, I think it may be us. If we lose to Hull (and depending on how we lose) I might chuck a £10.00 on us going down. Potentially could be a double win if Ashley decides another relegation is enough and leaves too!

We have only won 2 games since the end of November 2 draws and and 8 loses

I've thought that Leicester and Burnley have shown they have a bit of fight about them. I thought they may have a chance but looking at the table I'm struggling to see past those two and QPR.

I do think Sunderland, Hull and Villa could all drop through though. Villa have the players to stop up but they don't score very often. Sunderland have the players but do seem handicapped by the stubborn floor ****ter who seems intent on breaking the draws record while sending every ****er to sleep. Hull should have enough in the ir ranks but I've never rated Bruce, he just seems a bit clueless.

I'm sure Burnley's reliance on the same set of players will catch up with them. Leicester just seem to lack a bit of quality and QPR for whatever reason, do not seem to be finding it easy. You could easily see the likes of us, WBA, Palace plummet. I just think we have enough in our ranks to be a bit better than those below us regardless of the Carver handicap. WBA - Pulis will do what is required, he always does. Palace - Pardew knows what he is doing and they will get enough out of the feel good factor to see them ok.

Obviously Everton seem highly unlikely but Martinez seems to have no clue about defending. That said they'll probably score enough goals to win enough matches. Its only 4 point though!

I think WBA have made a very astute signing in Callum McManaman. Good player and he has the right will to win attitude which Pulis will get the best out of.

Right. I've just put £40 on us going down.
That's my insurance (£1000) if the worst happens.
I'll use the cash to buy 1000 oversized SD mugs and sit and hoy them at Fat Mikes chopper as he lands near the Scotty road.
If I lose the £40 then I'll be happy as a pig in **** to be honest.

Everytime I go to make a case for us going down, I realise how truly **** the bottom half of the league is. Even with Sissoko being sold, let's just add, I think we'll get the two wins and handful of draws required to stay up, Ashley wouldn't have bet on Carver otherwise. A soiled rag could manage us to 36-ish points, which'll probably save us.

Villa - sooooooooooooooo poor. Was chatting with a Villa fan at work, he's pessimistic (but then again, that could just be the accent), and we were just saying how in the normal course of events, they'd be down. But Hull, QPR, Leicester, Burnley, West Brom are soooooooooo poor, that they'll be safe. Same with us and Sunderland.

I reckon it'll be nervy, and awful to watch, but we'll scrape safety with a game to spare. If we got relegated, it would serve Ashley right, but it's unlikely.

This has been, by far, the worst premier league season of all time, in my opinion. There's been some anomalous results, some ok games, but by and large the matches have been of a poor quality. Liverpool sum it up. Absolutely flair-less all of a sudden.

£40 down the drain. We'll be no where near getting relegated. We have too much quality and there are too many truly ****e teams below us all of whom aren't going to out-perform us between now and the end of the season.

Could be in the bottom feeders within next 4 games. 3 of these are away from home so how many points will we get?

Don't know. Some points. It would barely be mathematically possible to be in the bottom 3 after the next 4 games.

We hear this ****e every season. "We're going down - 100%". "I don't know where the next point is coming from". Yada yada. I don't expect a particularly good second half of the season and it will be made a lot more difficult if we sell Sissoko but we will comfortably get 3 or 4 wins and a couple if draws in 16 games.

Paddy McCarthy is hardly a reliable source. He's just guessing. Pooyet fessed to it when he felt the need to apologise. You can cling like a winnet to any story you want, Pooyet is THE floorshitter. And a stubborn one at that.
