His old sign was found after the now owners of the shop Kingston cleaning services took down their sign. It is like a look back in time when that happens..wonder what will happen to it?????

    My old man's favourite player.

I think that belongs in a museum.

Shirley, there must be a place for it in our City of Cultcha?

The Man himself. He was a Geordie if you didn't know. Played 403 games for Hull City and never scored a goal, which is why I think the likes of Altidore, Proschwitz, Graham, Simpson, Folan and Sagbo tried to emulate him but failed miserably. Nice try though fellers!

Just reading this at the moment and yes I was one of those kids who chatted with Billy in the shop, and I use to play football on the car park on a surface of cinder type stuff, fall over and you certainly knew about it. That sign must be saved and not covered up if possible but I don't have the funds to buy it, Raich Carter use to serve in what was I believe his in laws off licence down Hawthorn Ave. Good pictures of Billy as well.

In the 1960s his wife worked as a cleaner in our building at Castle Hill Hospital, she was a lovely woman and Billy came to a couple of our work "dos". He too was a smashing bloke - a true gent.

One of my greatest regrets in my time supporting City is that I missed seeing Billy Bly play by a couple of years. The word legend is overused but if ever a man qualified for that label it is Billy.I never got to meet him but from what others have told me he was one of natures real gentleman.

If Billys family don't want the sign the club should buy it and install it at the Circle. If the club can't or won't buy it could we start a collection and try to get permission to install it at the KC or the training ground.

Eddie Burbanks had a sweet shop on Holderness Road not far from where I lived. I went in there a few times and was served by him.
