Brighton have broken their transfer record to sign Australian goalkeeper Matt Ryan from Valencia. We gave the player a trial in 2012, but didn't go on to sign him. It'll be interesting to see how he does in the Premier League.
Their current record is the £4.1m they paid for Shane Duffy last summer. Very nearly doubled of course by Pritchard until he decided he preferred east anglia to the coast. I'd say that's still too much for a player who has made just 27 appearances in 2 seasons - 17 of which were on loan for Genk. Premier league clubs are being fleeced left, right and centre. Probably due to the news of our new TV deal in all of its opulent glory. I hope Levy has seen the memo as we may well have to swallow some pride and turn out our pockets if we want to do some business this summer.
This is why you don't let the work experience kids anywhere near strategy meetings: http://www.play-fair.com/data/Strategy_Paper_EN_150dpi_Doppelseiten.pdf
Paul Pogba has decided to defend a player that he should barely know, by all accounts: It's pure coincidence that they share the same ****bag agent, of course.
Has everyone on here turned down the Sunderland job, by the way? I think that they're still waiting for a couple of you to respond. Hurry up and let them down gently, please.
My application was contingent on them signing Moussa Sissoko from Spurs for, and I quote "whatever price the small bald man wants". They told me they'd get back to me. Haven't heard from them since.
I said I'd only take the job if the club's board didn't contain anyone who covered up for a convicted sex offender. I haven't heard back from them...
Someone at Real Madrid or Barcelona wasn't completely honest about their taxes? No! I'm shocked. At what point does one of the clubs get charged for conspiracy or being part of a criminal enterprise?
Has a Catalan been appointed as the head of the IRS in Spain. I hope that we don't extradite Maureen, I'd rather he stay at Manure and make them play boring park the bus defensive type footie.
Liverpool reportedly closing in on a £34m (+£5m add-ons) deal for Mo Salah. Doesn't phase me in the slightest. CB, LB, DM, ST & GK should be Klopp's main areas of concern, not a position which they already have covered by a collection of top drawer players. Also, the Italian league is played at such a slow pace compared to the chaos of the PL. It really isn't surprising to hear that a player blessed with pace has done well over there. Not to say he won't perform better than his failure of a stint at Chelsea, but the odds are certainly stacked against him.
The Italian League is an inferior standard to the PL so it will be interesting to see how Salah performs without the time and space he enjoyed at Roma. Almost £40m is a large chunk of their transfer kitty without sales and Pool are already well stacked in his position.... unless of course they are preparing to sell an attacking player.
Salah's a good player and I'm sure he'll make an impact. Doesn't he play the same position as Mane, though? Both ****ing off for the ACON every couple of years isn't ideal, either.
