The big problem for Spurs is their wage structure (which ironically has been one of their strengths). If they want to attract and keep the best players, then they are going to have to pay them accordingly.

It was okay for Spurs to pay smaller wages when they were Top 5 and 6, but if they want to sustain Top 4 and champions league football, then the best players will demand the best wages.

With the cost of building their new stadium, they are going to find out that this is a difficult balance. And like Arsenal did, they might find that they have to sell their best players to balance the books.

Your post actually was wrong on both words. CFC's post was neither insightful or inciteful. Just plain wrong.

I'm struggling to find any quotes from any player saying they want to leave. I'm sure GM and CFC can direct me to some.

The article cites him saying it to BBC radio 5 live :

“But it depends where the individual is in the stage of his career. He might feel he has done enough at Tottenham and might fancy a change or might feel Tottenham is the nearly club that nearly wins the league and might choose to move on.”

Not saying it is fella. Just pointing out what Rose did say. I'm not here to wum, but I do think the next few seasons will be a big test as to whether you can hang onto your best players.

Both the stadium cost and increasing wage demands will have a big effect on whether you can attract and keep the best players at your club.

It will be difficult I admit but I don't think we will see departures on the same scale as say Southampton did or Arsenal might:emoticon-0102-bigsm .

We'll see I guess. How much is your stadium projected to cost ? Not sure tha Spurs will be able to sustain that and pay £150k + wages for your best players. What's your highest earner on now ?
