Doesn't surprise me the England stuff, for a period a lot of City and Sunlan fans used to travel to England together and even go to club games together as there was a real bond. As a City fan you were probably safer theee than at any away game.
Bali. The reason I'm posting so much is the missus is sick as **** and doesn't want to be left alone. Not even from me.
So talking rough pubs, Isis are getting pretty close to there aren't they? While Mrs BCC is poorly, get a mob togethet
Are they in Philippines? Reckon that's far enough away but if they venture over I've got my Linnet car park training to fall back on.
Late 70s early 80s used to drop in Earl De Grey before heading into old town .. the old parrot .. the working girls .. black corner .. and the wild west punch ups .. Had it all for me .. was better then going to the movies with the entertainment .. used to finish off at Bierkeller with it's brass dance floor .. oh such wonderful memories
First time I went in Earl - early 80's I think. 2 of the working girls were having a fight in the passageway and one got knocked out - landlord turned down the music and said the police are coming so if you're dealing anything you shouldn't can you hold off for half an hour.
Henry's is the roughest club I've been in I reckon. Although I once almost got lynched in a ****hole in Hanley, Stoke on Trent, for not singing Delilah as they assumed I must be a Port Vale fan. Protesting that I was a City fan didn't really do a lot to calm things down.
When I first started going out in Hull, there were several places you went where there was at least one fight every single time you went in, Cheese, Shire Horse, Henry's and Trog Bar.
I always found Dram Shop had its fair share of fights when i was in there, many with glasses as fighting tools. I certainly agree with you about Shire and Trog, though not sure where Henrys was.
The worst fight I ever witnessed was in Dram Shop between 2 deaf and dumb lads, I've never seen such ferocity in a fight before or since.
One of my mates parents ran it about that time, for a few years. Not sure if they owned it or were managing it. We would sometimes go up the back stairs to avoid the queues waiting to get in, then saunter down the staircase in the middle, then get priority service at the bar.
Oh right, thanks for showing me where it was. We never used to go down that way, we stayed in the town centre most of the time, with the odd vacation for a night out in Beverley, on the train.
Great place for a holiday Bali. Good value for this part of the world - shame about the mrs being sick. Can't beat a bit of Bali belly
That's it ocean 11 !! That was mega rough always fighting. The 6 ft 4 West Indian bouncer just took it in his stride.
