Transition period for England, Ireland's title for me although I can see Wales and France pushing them all the way.
I believe this is on the agenda at the next 6 Nations management meeting with the suggestion it is implemented next year. Long overdue...
Italy leading 18-10 with 25 minutes to go and they have found a decent fly half. French all over the place.
France sneak it 23-21, undeserved, Italy took off their good new number 10 and needed someone to drop a goal from the last possession to win it, Parisi tried and failed, you have to have someone who can kick well at this level.
Hoops Ireland won't compete this year. SB will undoubtedly accuse me of underplaying our chances but this Irish team has been decimated with injury. We're missing eight first team players including five of our first choice pack. This along with the abysmal form of our provinces and the loss of our talisman O'Connell leaves us very very vulnerable.
So they never sent us home to think again?....again.....boy I'd hate to follow any Scottish national sports team..they're rubbish at everything!
The final is tomorrow. Can't see past Wales or Ireland after todays games. Whoever wins tomorrow wins the tournament.
England will get better, but I hope they don't peak under Jones until the next World Cup. Hard to beat and well organised will do for this season.
There are often poor first performances in the 6 Nations so I wouldn't read too much into today's games. Just confirms that Italy and Scotland will compete for the wooden spoon again...
