For those unaware it's the RU World Cup starting today. Contested across the UK for the next few weeks. Great opening ceremony, inspiring words from Harry. Game on, come on England.

Kit is terrible agreed. Feeling England will get to semis, tough group with Fiji, Wales and Australia to play. 10 mins gone, England 3-0 up.

We won't learn much tonight. A week tomorrow and Saturday 3rd will be rather more competitive!

True, but these games can be tricky, particularly for host nations. Should still be a decent win though.

What a shambles that disallowed Fiji try was.

How can a ref be allowed to go back on his decision based on catching a glimpse of a big screen replay that was for the crowds benefit.

I don't want New Zealand to win it. Rugby for kids down there seems like the Hitler Youth. It's such an important part of Kiwi identity that they must succeed in the sport.

Clive and Jonny agree with us. Great minds and all that.

Ref needs to give it up. If you haven't got the money to emulate Wayne Rooney's luxuriant locks, just buzz it off.

    Quite enjoyed the opening ceremony.

I like the way they're supporting a worthwhile charity.

    The pundits aren't ****s.

    Crowd seems decent.

It's everything league isn't in fact.

It's a bigger game out the two codes in England. It's heavily advertised via various media outlets so it has the money to afford a decent opening ceremony.
If RL could break out of the M62 tunnel then who knows it could someday rival RU in popularity.
For me, RL club rugby is better to watch than RU, but the I much prefer RU internationals to RL.
