My personal opinion is that it's a no brainer.

    I would rather keep Cork.

Personally I think he is hugely underrated, I don't think Koeman would want him to leave.

He would be a welcome addition to most clubs in the Prwmier League. He is defensive and that is what Saints need in midfield.

Midfield isn't the position we need to strengthen, it's the forward position.

We've tried to keep him, but if he wants to leave, it is best we know now.

You can't keep a player if he (maybe) doesn't want to be here. If he decides to not sign a contract and leave, we have enough defensive midfielders anyways.

Obviously that is if he wants to stay.

No player should stay who doesn't want to be here.

And yep, since the site uodTe the iPhone app no longer works, meaning scrolling through Safari is very difficult and picky...

Wow. This forum blows so hot and cold on Cork it's ridiculous. One minute he's the most underrated player in the Premier and we must sign him to a long term contract. The next minute, he's easily replaceable and we should force him out.

Barring Cork from training with the first team is a total dick move. He's lived up to his end of the contract, and given no indication that he won't continue doing so.

Cork seems to be overrated on here rather than underrated.

No one said we should force him out. What people are saying is if Cork decides to go and wants to run down his contract he can't expect game time. We will obviously look for a replacement and if we sign Vilhena this window Cork would be 5 or 6 choice cm. So if Cork wants game time and wants to move, he should move on this month (if a decent team comes in for him).

If has decided to turn down a new contract and leave. Why would Koeman play him over players that want to be here? So it would be Schneiderlin, Wanyama, Davis, Reed, Gape and Vilhena if he signs. Cork would only play if we get loads of injures.

Hoping Vilhena (assuming Cork goes) isn't our only transfer...

I don't think people blow hot and cold on him. Everyone accepts he's a decent player who is a good squad option for us. People would prefer him to stay, but accept that if he wants regular first team football, he'll need to go to a lower mid team to do so. If he wants to do that, then do so now please - we can replace him/upgrade him.

That seems to be the general feeling, apart from LFF who believes him to be the lovechild of Zico and Socrates :)

I'll be sad if Jack leaves, but as previously said on the forum the choice is his and his alone. Cannot see that the club could do much more to keep him?

We seemingly lacked defensive midfielders last weekend! I would keep Cork whatever happens until the end of the season. We need to strengthen if anything and why take a risk for a few million when added depth could ensure European football. Vilhena may be highly rated but there is no guarantee that he will fit in straight away.

So keep him if a good bid comes in and he wants to leave?
We have never been short of defensive midfielders. Attacking midfielders is what we are lacking.

I am sure that we could agree for him to stay until the end of the season and see how much he plays in the meantime, and as for money we are not desperate for it and an extra place in the league could be worth nearly 2 million.

I think that's in the minor places. When your fighting for a podium place, the differences are more marked, I believe.

I will say again(not to you but I have said it before). If Cork tells Koeman he wants to leave and won't sign a new contract, why would Koeman play him unless we have 3 or 4 midfielders injured? Why would he play a player that wants to leave and is not first choice?

If it was Morgan then I would agree with you btw.
