I posted this in the PL thread, but given we figure prominently. I should probably post it here, too.:
Was reading sport section of a paper at work today and they were raving about Kante having completed 23/23 passes in the first half of the Chelsea game yesterday. If I remember correctly, Hojbjerg completed 43/43 in 35 mins.
Ooh, I like the look of that! Anyone know what the stuff in the centre of the bottom left picture is?
An article on the pathway and transfer policy at saints by georgeweahcousin.... http://georgeweahscousin.com/what-do-saints-fans-really-want/
Maintaining the pathway by choosing not to sign upper-echelon players would be absurd. The pathway is available if there are minutes to go around (something made easier if we're in Europe, I might add)...it's having a bunch of large count of exceedingly average players that will block youngsters, not having a good team. If anything, having a high-quality lineup makes it easier to play the kids; note that the teams that afforded youth the most minutes last year were the big clubs, because they can risk having a not-wholly-ready teenager or two in the lineup.
Well, being in the Football League again would be another way to open up the pathway, too. They have to reach a much lower level in order to be 'ready' than competing with full internationals.
