I think you'll find they sleep outside. And dig holes to **** in. And....****ing horrendously...cook and eat rat packs No ****ing chance. No ****ing chance at all.
Look, it's really simple, and something I'm more than comfortable with. Army/Navy = Military forces. RAF = Forced to be Military. An order in the Army/Navy = obeyed instantly, without thought or question, especially if given by an officer. An order in the RAF = A suggestion, which is freely debated and questioned, then usually, completely ignored, especially if given by an officer. 23 years, not one night under canvas, and I'm perfectly happy with that.
It, took me years to figure out that my FIeld Craft instructors had false names. Sgts Spinx and Pharaoh. Odd, that all I can recall of them was that they both had scars on their faces. Easy last posting Norton Manor, near Taunton, I suppose.
Never went there. Swinderby for 6 weeks. But I got a bad cold during the exercise phase, well actual flu, and spent 3 nights in the med centre. Missing it. True story. Cpls course at Hereford was at ramp up of The Gulf. The men in black were using the ranges so we hadda stay in the block at night. And couldn't do stuff in the dark cos armed guards. True story. Sgts course. Lol camping. No way.
