I would have no interest in working for ehab.middlesboro are a decent short term opportunity but I would go for Sunderland myself
I'd say us. As bad as the Allams are for many things they aren't the kind of owners to be trigger happy when it comes to sacking managers.
Boro because Gibson doesn't often sack managers and he's already said he wants to go straight back up and they will be the best resourced club in the league. Ours and sunderlands transfer budget could look more like a whip round than a war chest
What do you think we'll spend? Do you think we'll be adequately equipped come August? Or even September? Will we play a few games with 9 players and the kids again before the deadline? Do you think the club is being mismanaged?
Part of me thinks Ehab has a ****ing massive ego and he likes the association of being in the big league. For that reason, more in hope. I hope the filet ****er spends some money to make us competitive and appoints Harry Potter as manager to work some kind of magic. Though I know I'll be disappointed.
He has. He will. Probably the only thing we'll all be disappointed about is that the Allams will still own the club.
Bang on GLP... i'm sure he gets off telling people he owns a Premier League club. He may even get shunned by some of the Polo community for not doing so..
Spend ? Depends how much we get for the players we are about to sell and how serious the owners about us coming straight back up, and I think they are serious about it. They have broken the club transfer record twice already and the club wage structure so I see no reason why they should suddenly not back the new manager. Is the club mismanaged ? From a supporters view probably yes but from the owners view, no, they have achieved more on the pitch in the short time they have been here then all our previous owners put together. There is nothing wrong with being a yo-yo club from the Championship to the Premier League as long as the club is stronger because of it. Our income stream is certainly healthier then it would have been if we hadn't been in the Premier League. It's how and how much of it is used to get us back up. These owners have done it once so why should we doubt that they will want to do it again ? I don't think we will have the turmoil we had last pre season. Those were exceptional circumstances and I don't think they will be repeated. (puts tin hat on and steps back)
The Championship is going to be very competitive, especially in Yorkshire, getting the right Manager in is vital.
Have a feeling that Monks could end up at Watford (he's from that neck of the woods) although a lot over here seem to think he's been tapped up by Boro.
We have a nucleus of British experienced players with PL experience, and 5 seasons in last 9 . Our owners may yet surprise us with a handsome kitty. Boro do not have our quality, and too many of their foreigners will not fancy it without a foreign manager. Their owner , bless him, talks it all up, but how are they going to 'smash' the championship ?????? It's a marathon not a sprint and they are team built not to concede. SAFC: basket case now with massive debts. Who'd want to take that on?
