Will watch any sport although Basketball bores me stupid. Played Football until I was in my late 40's but Tennis was probably my best sport. Got into golf when I packed in Footy and love it - feel I could get a lot better if I played more (which is probably why I don't play more as I don't want to disprove that theory). Not sure whether I would like to play in the UK - too used to the spectacular courses out here, and having someone to carry the clubs. View 0n 18th hole of one of my favourite courses:
Difference to the rest of us is that whilst some here might hire a caddy, the Jak Man has a different servant carrying each different club.
I tend to play an unsocial game of golf i.e.from one rough to the opposite side bunker etc. The problem is I always manage to hit 2 or 3 shots per round which convince me that if I only practiced a little bit more I could still make it on the PGA tour.
My bro went out there and he reckons they are not just a pretty face either. He says his was basically reading greens like a childs book. She was telling where to putt it and the only time he missed was when he was too pacey or not enough.
I think the correct answer is that they all do apart from the ugly one sat on the back of the cart. Yes - they do know where to putt it if you are having trouble with that.
Cricket for me. Used to play village cricket until I became a father (uses up far too much of the weekend, especially with the drinks afterwards, to be family friendly) Also, until recently, I used to play in a badminton league.
Was not expecting another fencer on here. Did you get to see much of the Olympics? We managed to get our local pub to put the men's foil on the big screen. Everyone thought we were mad, going nuts over it.
Ha - cool, I'm not the only fencer in the village Yes, although I'm a epee fencer personally - the foil boys used to train at my club until they were shunted off to Lea Valley then the Leon Paul centre. Known Richard, James etc for about 10yrs
Wow, we'll have the bricklayers on next claiming building a boundary wall should be an Olympic sport!!
Football is my second sport (to observe) as I am now too long in the tooth to play anything any more. I used to play a lot of rugby but retired badly broken about the time when they started to piss around with the laws making it impossible for a lineout or a scrum to played properly. My number one sport of interest is horse racing though I never watch a race and cricket is a close third behind the football. Fencing? I used to wield the foil back in the seventies...
Yup - that's really me - the slim version from 20 plus years ago. Even after all these years, I still miss the adrenaline rush from competing. I was never trusted with anything mechanical though. If it couldn't be fixed with a hammer then I was allowed nowhere near it!!
Football is life, nothing else matters but I'll watch any sport. Next fav's probably rugby and UFC/MMA/Boxing etc basically anything where someone gets crunched. Have been known to stay up all night during the Olympics to watch fencing, archery, curling basically anything where someone wins... always back the underdog!
