Just watching a programme that our lass recorded for me...Featuring The Stranglers, The Pistols, The Damned, The Jam, The Buzzcocks, The Clash just to name a few...I'm in my element...
It was on BBC 4 the other night mate...Our lass recorded it for me because I was at work...It was brilliant..
On freeview channel 82 is vintage t v, it is excellent for all eras of music and I like the 70's. I had 2 feet long hair, two tone purple flares, a tartan tank top(bay city rollers) ! and hush puppies use to gan for the football echo, and watch Dr who (Tom baker) while reading it, then later the generation game, starsky and hutch and match of the day. Sometimes summer time special form Blackpool with the black and white minstrels or the kings singers hehe, Les dawson, frankie howard, the two ronnies, Morecambe and wise, Spike milligan, the good life, Fawlty towers tufty the squirell( it was as big as the frigging ice cream van) safety adverts, clackers, choppers. Them days are long gone sadly but happy days.
Worth a watch mate..It certainly brought back memories for me...I loved the punk, new wave and scar music, but never got into the punk fashion although I did love my Doc Martin's and still do..
I remember the 70's with its eclectic music scene - so many brilliant talented rock genres, all good with real musicians who cut there teeth on the music circuit and played/wrote many memorable iconic songs. Now too many manufactured clones grabbing a moment of fame and fade away as quickly. Society evolved in the 70's for me. Also a memorable cup run springs to mind ... Monty was sublime
A real good music memory revisit - Beat Surrender on radio darkside - often revitalises the head after our too regular Saturday football traumas
Going to see a cracking local band at Hanover Place (formerly Doyle's) in Deptford tomorrow night..They are from Seaham and are called the Rabble Rousers. They do a lot of New Wave songs from the Jam etc and are one of the bands I always like to watch. It is a pity that 1977 (another top local band) are playing in town at the same time. I will hopefully have an extra spring in my step after watching the lads beat West Ham.
