I wasn't taking any credit away from Jak whatsoever, so that's a complete straw man argument. But to depend on a penalty save at the end after we had controlled most of the game was very frustrating, and dangerous. Also a very good penalty is unsaveable, with the right power and accuracy (very low and in corner for example)
I heard Barry Glendenning on Talksport the other day, saying Grosicki "always looks like he's just had a really late night out"
We didn't control most of the game, and you said it was a poor penalty, and if it had been hit better it would have gone in, so does seem you were blaming tadic for not scoring rather than jak for saving. Nothing straw man.
God some people are never happy. Solid tight performance away from home earns us a point and some people say it's two points dropped! After blowing it last week against stoke when we got it back to 1-1 i think earning a point is a decent achievement. If we'd been this tight in three or four more away games and got draws we'd be pretty much safe by now. The only negative for me is that Abel is looking more in form than Niasse and deserves more game time. But you can't argue with the result. Now let's beat Sunderland and get something from Palace.
Decent point , but a fine save saved our bacon and that should not have been necessary. Why Abel was not involved, from the off with a strike partner, is beyond me. Why Henriksen came on instead of him is puzzling. Seriously, it was crying out for two up front from the off, we finally have the larkers, so what is the problem? We could find issue with a few performances, but is Silva overthinking it? This was a game for Abel; if not realised at the start, then it certainly should have been at 45mins.
So it only counts as getting a point off a top 10 club when it suits. Gotcha. What the hell are you on about? He would have put it in the bottom corner if it had gone in.
Just got off the plane from the Far East and saw the result, good point that, and well done Jak for saving the day. Just need Man U to beat Swansea 3-0 then we will have a better goal difference as well.
I never said it was a poor penalty at all, why even say that? You can have decent penalties that are saved, it just wasn't a brilliant penalty. I give Jack credit for a great save, you really are making up an issue.
Two things..... its not ****ing Jack, its Jak...... second, the penalty was debatable, third and most important and to other posters, Niasse ran his bollocks off yesterday, and it was not a game under the circumstances to go gung-ho based on our away form. We went for a point minimum and thats what we got.
Just a thanks to TOM took your advice and used College Street Car Park.... 5 minute walk to the ground only over the railway bridge and straight out onto the A33...
Abel was going to come on until Clucas went down injured and Marco changed his mind as a precaution. Henrikson was a surprise move, but he set Niasse up well for a shot he needed to get on target. City didn't have the same opportunities in the second half because Southampton picked it up, not because we didn't"go for it" and in the end it was a very good point gained. Enjoyed the whole away day, for a change.
I remember the commentator saying something about Abel, so I thought he was coming on; your explanation clears that up and proves the value of this board. Thanks!
