I have a funny feeling Newcastle are going to win the League Cup this year as well as get promotion. Benitez, while he may lack something at a top club like RM, does know how to win cups with the teams he has managed in the past. So squeeze past Hull and then get one of Arsenal/Southampton and roared on by 50,000 Geordies in a home semi could be quite daunting for the opposition.

Olomola talking about his debut. We mustn't underestimate how hard this is for the youngsters....especially when it isn't just one of them in an otherwise experienced team. It must be like being used to performing for your Mum and Dad and suddenly being asked to play the Albert Hall.

 

We actually got some praise on SSN, annoying that their pundit couldn't remember the name of our "new" full back! They said that every team we have played against this season have been surprised how good we are!

Reference Harrison Reed. I saw many comments, last season, indicating that he wasn't playing well enough for the U23s to be considered for a first team game, yet every time he has played he hasn't let himself, or the team, down.

I think Olomola, as a small guy, needs to have a look at how players like Tadic and Long get their bodies between the ball and the defender, preventing them coming round the side, to dispossess him, as happened quite often last night. I'm sure it will come with experience.

 

I hope he isn't like Fernandes as he always went missing when the going got tough especially during the more physical games.
