Also, normally the result can be too raw when I go to work the next day. However, Mrs No7 is having a birthday on Tuesday, so I have the week off
Only thinking that this morning, although my thoughts were just vague about just not liking Sunday games. I overwhelmingly prefer 3pm Saturday. It's the tradition and when a win comes you have the rest of the weekend to enjoy it. With Sunday games it's just a few celebratory hours and then we're back to Monday mode.
I waited 27 years for a win at Old Trafford. I don't care what day or time it was, I am still enjoying it now, 2-3 weeks later, with every United fan I know
Well there are exceptions. I only watched parts of the game again the other evening. We played brilliantly, to be fair. Wasn't that a Monday Night game..? I like in-the-week games, preferably Wednesday, as that harks back to my days hung over the wall at The Dell trying to keep my feet off the cold concrete. The atmosphere in floodlit matches is just so special. Better than 3pm Saturdays, I have to admit.
The only game that matters to us this weekend (apart from ours of course) is the Chelsea v Man City game. These are our rivals, and whatever the upstarts behind us do, even to the extent of temporarily going above us, we will be back by 6 o'clock tomorrow evening. As it happens I have something I can't get out of tomorrow afternoon, so I won't be able to see the match, so in this instance I agree with you Fran, but you must admit, this season, the games moved for TV have been pretty good to us!
Not only do I dislike Sunday games, I really really dislike 4.00pm kick offs. I have a 2 hour drive back to North London and an early start on Monday, so it's looking like an empty seat. bastards. Edit; I don't give a toss what Man U, Spurs or Liverpool do this weekend, because if we win tomorrow it won't matter.
Oh come on Archers; I have a 2 hour drive and a flight to catch early Monday morning ... get your arse down there and back the boys
Yeah, but it's on telly. And I'm a tired old git these days. Mind you, the drive home is always a pleasure when we've won. I remain undecided.
Gotta go Archer. Similar for me from Southendish but as you said, very much hoping the drive home will be very sweet (regardless of the traffic!)
