I always think it's amazing that everyone is desperate to condemn spitting but are quick to dismiss potentially leg-breaking tackles as 'part of the game', it's mental if they are banned for longer than you'd get for violent conduct. I'd take being spat on over a dangerous tackle every day of the week.
Playing a bit of a devils advocate here; I get your point, but, I'd rather take a dangerous tackle than be gobbed on by some ****er with TB!
Sky Sports News HQ @SkySportsNewsHQ BREAKING: Jonny Evans and Papiss Cisse have been charged by @FA for allegedly spitting at each other. #SSNHQ
What about a leg breaker from Tommy "the Anfield Iron" Smith or a light dusting of spit from "Gorgeous" George Boyd?
Absolutely baffling. Not only does the video show Evans didn't spit at Cisse, but anyone who knows anything about him and his character would know he'd never do anything like that. He's such a down to earth, honest and humble chap. I'm shocked and disgusted by this conviction.
Cisse is up for a seven match ban, as he's already got a violent conduct ban this season, he'd miss most of the rest of the season.
He's been poorly advised, FA rule 12 states that you don't have to spit ON someone, just AT them - the replays show clearly that he spat in the direction of the other dirty bastard.
Spitting is disgusting and cowardly, but is it really worse then a leg breaking tackle or throwing a elbow?
We've done this rhetorical question further up the thread TC ........... not in a real serious manner though.
