Witness described him swinging in and the rear of the lorry hitting them

This kind of thing seems to happen far top often. Whether it's unsecured loads hitting cyclists or whatever. It makes me angry as much as sad.

 

Its extremely sad.
There isnt a day goes by lately without some kind of accident.

Some of the driving that you witness is dreadful.
The speeds some of these drivers go is shocking.

 

he's gone round the corner with the trailer part onto the pavement and unfortunately hit the two people and tragically killed them at the scene

utter horrific.. lorry/hgv are such dangerous vehicles and should be limited to certain days/hours like in other countries

 

So very very sad RIP and thoughts are with the families of all those involved.

I presume that'll be a death by dangerous driving rather than a murder, which it should be.

I've seen plenty of crazy driving by lorry drivers. Recently been staying in Burton Pidsea. There's a garage /store on the main street on a bendy road. There's often people crossing there but I've seen lorries doing 40mph + going past it. Bloody madness and and so angering.

 

I drive down Hedon Road every day and set my limiter to 42mph so I don't get nicked for speeding, yes I know it's still speeding, my point is that at that speed I get overtaken by virtually everyone including wagons some of which must be 10-15mph or more above the limit of 40.

As so called pro drivers why do they risk a speeding ticket or worse a tacho check which could mean suspension, I know it must be ****e driving trucks in our traffic but they don't seem to respect the fact they are driving a dangerous vehicle, given the number that go over on Hedon Road, it's about time the cops had a massive crack down on truckers as they don't seem to give a **** about any other road user.

 

Good points well made. I know someone who was boasting about taking off a car drivers wing mirror with his trailer - as the car had done something to upset him! I hasten to add this was on the motorway!!
