Sinik - No, just can't see it working. He doesn't want to be here. Vaughan - He's only just turned 20; he probably needs to put in some strength conditioning work but it's too early to give up on him. Another loan next season. Simons - Sent on loan following the Doncaster debacle. Only 21 but his star seems to be waning. Is that because of the injuries and is there a player there if we're patient? Longman - Don't really see where he fits in, other than in the Docherty role (10 minute spells every 6 games or so).
I’m with you toast, he’s done some big things for us but I don’t think he turns up in the big games. He’s struggled against decent right backs, His final decision/ball isn’t always the best, I think he needs another season in the championship or he’ll do a klp and keep someone’s bench warm for a while
Callum Jones was given a new deal to 2025 at a similar time when Jacob was last year so I reckon he'll come back into the thinking too. I would never write any of the young ones off. TLT looked a car crash last pre season but he's flying at Donny. Loans don't work, so I don't see the point in trying to go down the same path that hasn't yielded results for us.
Loans Carvalho, Delap, Giles, Morton, Ohio, Zaroury Delap the big one, do everything we can to keep him. Would like the Liverpool duo, but can see it. Giles not done enough for me (is he fit?) and Ohio maybe worth a punt if cheap. 2024 Christie, Connolly, Doc, Sharp, Smith, Traore Imagine we activate the option with Smith, the rest let go 2025 Allsop, Oscar, Fleming, Ingram, Lo Tutala, Lokilo, Longman, Seri, Sinik, Tufan, Woods Getting rid of a few of these is vital. Hopefully Bahia take Oscar and Millwall Longman. Can see Lokilo/Ingram going cheap. Sinik managed 200 mins so far so imagine we'll have to settle for another loan for him, Fleming & Woods 2026 Coyle, Furlong, Greaves, Jones, McLaughlin, Philogene, Simons, Slater, Vaughan Greaves and Philogene probably gone, hopefully for upwards of £40m. I'd also cash in on Macca, he can't press man to man like we do now. Decent player just not in our system. 2027 Jacob, Pandur, Omur We're in a decent spot, baring loans all our key players are tied to long contracts, but it's going to be another year with a high turnover. We're probably looking at 10+ again. We should have a bit of cash to spend though and i'm sure we'll utilise the loan market effectively.
For me, the thing with loans will be, we will not be left with what is left but rather be a chosen first choice destination. I'll be expecting to see 2 or 3 more Turkish or Turkish League players... pray they're the standard of Tufan and Omur...
Well it was interesting to read the response to my point about the early career of Ohio here . It’s amazing how the criticism at the time gets diluted and softened off , and then justified on the basis that it was a reflection of his fitness . I think my point stands , donkey etc for a young new player is hardly a consideration of his fitness . I’m pretty sure it was me who mentioned that fitness would be the issue early days . Im not looking for brownie points but at least own your premature opinions - Myler got it and he was an experienced older player . Im now sure there will be an analysis of my wording and it will be twisted again to excuse yourselves .
Fulham and West Ham were the two I’d heard mentioned. Fulham losing Tosin in the summer so would add up. West Ham seem to be in the middle of changing gaffer so unsure where that would leave them.
I’m absolutely buzzing and ****ting it for this summer’s turnover. Going to need 13 signings at a minimum assuming all the out of contracts go.
Tosin’s a right-sided centre-half. Fulham have Bassey and Ream as two decent left-footers but Ream is getting on in years. Greaves might have a decent chance of starting there competing with Bassey.
The big question is can we get a better squad than now ? It’ll take some doing at this level , I don’t see us getting a steamroller squad together - if we do wow!
I can see lots of clubs wanting him but I’m not sure we’ll get an offer that can’t be refused. He has been living on past reputation for the most part since returning from injury, his stock had definitely fallen.
As is regularly pointed out he doesn’t offer enough for the high wage he is on. Certainly would keep him with a pay cut but we could have 10 Reagan Slaters with what Tufan is costing us.
He has been off it in recent months, but he's still been scoring goals. He's got that priceless knack of scoring goals disproportionately to his performances. That might make someone want to buy him. But I agree that he's been off it. He's starting to remind me of Ebiowei a bit, not that he's not a lot better than Ebiowei - he obviously is - but he has the same problem. Head down, seeming like he's sulking almost, moving really slowly particularly when he gets the ball. Just an overall lack of intensity. That was Malcolm's problem and it's been Jaden's problem recently too. Again, not saying Jaden isn't better before someone jumps down my throat on that.
