Back in the local, there's a couple of lads creaming themselves at the thought! But they know it ain't gonna happen!
SUNDERLAND manager Sam Allardyce could use Adam Matthews as bait in an attempt to lure Bristol City star Aden Flint to the Stadium of Light. Eager to avoid a repeat of this season's protracted fight against relegation, Allardyce wants to significantly strengthen his squad in a bid to establish the Black Cats as a mid-table side in the Premier League. Linked with the Wearside club earlier this year, City central defender Flint remains a potential target and Allardyce is weighing up whether to make a move for the 25-year-old former Swindon Town man. There's some canny players come from the Chumpionship over the years, mate. Walcott, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Bale etc.. I wouldn't let that put you off, fella. I'd be happy if we swooped for Will Hughes at Derby, we need an AM and this lad seems to be the business. Same with Alex Mowatt, at Leeds. Terrific young player who I'd be happy to have at our club.
https://www.clubcall.com/sunderland/taylor-tracked-by-black-cats-1811391.html? http://the72.co.uk/55152/sunderland-looking-to-sign-leeds-united-star/ Taylor has had an impressive campaign for the Whites in the Championship and is being tipped in some quarters to be the next young player to leave for a Premier League club. The 22-year-old, who racked up 43 appearances for Leeds this season, is said to be a target for the Black Cats, while Liverpool and Arsenal have also been tentatively linked with the defender. Allardyce will be looking for competition for Patrick Van Aanholt on the left for next season and Taylor is a player he could pursue. The Leeds man has previously said he wants to stay at Elland Road and help the Whites get back into the Premier League but he has been earmarked by several top-flight sides and may find it difficult to resist an offer from someone like Sunderland, who would hope to land Taylor for around £3million or less.
Ciaran Clark is a decent shout. He's got a release fee of about 5 million, he's a good age and a very solid defender. The concern though is that he seems to be injury prone. He's never played 30 games in a season, he's now 26. I'd stay clear of him because of that reason...
Personally I'd be quite pleased to see us sign him for 1 reason only, the reason I've mentioned him before. He's a local lad. Born and bred in Sandy. A year above my oldest at school. Nice lad, highly regarded round here.
Being a nice lad doesn't cut it with me, Blunham. I'm a nice lad If it wasn't for his injury record, I really would take a punt on him...
Sunderland ‘make move’ to sign in-demand Leeds full-back Date published: Friday 27th May 2016 2:14 please log in to view this image Charlie Taylor: A man in demand Sunderland have reportedly made an enquiry to Leeds for their highly-rated full-back Charlie Taylor. The full-back was named Leeds United’s player of the year in 2015/16 after a stellar campaign at Elland Road. Taylor, who is also reportedly wanted by Liverpool and Arsenal, made 43 appearances for the Whites last term and has a year left on his current deal. The player, subject of our weekly Scout feature on Thursday, was also linked with a move to Manchester United back in January as the Red Devils looked to plug the gap left in their side by Luke Shaw’s season-ending double leg break. But, according to press reports in the North-East, Sunderland are keen to steal a march on their rivals by making an enquiry to Leeds to check on the availability of the former England Under-19 full-back. The Whites are currently seeking the seventh manager of controversial owner Massimo Cellino’s two and a half year reign, with current incumbent Steve Evans not yet officially being told if he remains in charge or not. Sunderland will hope they can use this uncertainty to their advantage and secure an early transfer window deal for Taylor, who is comfortable either at left-back or as a left wing-back role, where he would provide cover and competition for Patrick van Aanholt. The 22-year-old Taylor played 43 games last season for Leeds.
Being reported we've discussed personal terms with Nevan Subotic of Dortmund. Anyone know much about him??
**** yeah! I'll be astonished if we can get him in. Him and Hummels were a formidable partnership for Dortmund. Next level player. Where have you heard this, mate?
The Sun reporting that us and Stoke have spoken to him. Massive pinch of salt, although the links like this are very good IMO
When I last saw him he was more or less on the same level as Hummels and he'd walk into almost any side. While I don't think he's quite as good he's still an excellent player.
Subotic has never been the same player since he ****ed his cruciate about 3 years ago. I don't recall him playing at all last season so I think anybody getting excited about the name needs to be realistic here, he's far from what he was. Having said that if anybody can get something out of him, you'd expect Allardyce would be that person.
