What team would people go for next Saturday? Toughest decision seems to be between either N'Daiye or Hudd.
Same team and formation that started the second half against Watford + Hudd. Park the bus and hit them on the break.
Saints play mid week so I'd be hoping for us to start a higher tempo game and hopefully finish the game fresher?
Attack a tired team with speed upfront and on the wings...go at them from the first minute. Jakupovic Elmo Maguire Ranocchia Tymon Grusicki N'diaye Clucas Robertson Markovic Niasse (Hernandez if suspended). Marshall Dawson Davies Huddlestone Evandro Maloney Hernandez (Mbokani
I think the reason we've been under-achieving away is because we have too much of a gung-ho attitude. Good teams just let us have our mad ten minutes or so and then pick us off like Everton did. One thing in an away team's favour is the home team have to commit to attack which inevitable leads to chances on the break. Go for their throats and you surrender that advantage.
We do have quick forwards to catch teams on the break away from home but we also have to start keeping clean sheets. We seem to regularly let two or more goals in when were on our travels. It would really give everyone a boost if we keep a clean sheet on Saturday.
From what Daws said in his pre-match, I get the impression that - if you're 'firing', you've got the position in the team set-up (subject to change from 4-4-2 to 3-5-2). Seems that MS picks his players from the training work-out - he can see form and/or fatigue, whereas we pick players due to position, not knowing about form, etc. Hudd might come on as either an effective, or a time-wasting sub.
Agree, and we have the offensive players to to do just that, but at the same time I don't see a defensibly consistent team that supports such a style of play. And sometimes we look too soft, also. But, against my own opinion, we had the results against Man Utd and Liverpool. Back then (!) the team was more aggressive. What we gained in quality and technic with Marko, Gros, Niasse, Evandro and the others, we lost in aggressiveness. The two combined are what we saw in the second half against Watford. If we play with such an atitude against Southampton, we sure do have a BIG chance of leaving with, at least, a point.
Southampton have nothing to play for. Unfortunately, I cant see them phoning one in like Watford did on Saturday. Jak Elmo Harry Rannochia Robbo Markovic N'Diaye Clucas Grosicki Abel Mbok Lets go and have a go
I believe we only took 1500 tickets. Don't know if we will sell them all. Looking at current state of play don't think we will.
I meant many from here really? Could see you took the smaller allocation when I bought mine, I'm right next to you lot to the left.
