No we didn't . Several reasons , the cosmopolitans at the Beeb don't think we are sexy enough , the greens have a local MP for Brighton , we are rough northerners and not the intelligencia of West Sussex . I do say well done to Brighton and hope they win the championship . It's the same old story for us as we never get the merit we deserve . It's taken Brighton 20 years to go from near Oblivion to the premier league . It took us 10 years and we went from the bottom league to the top in 5 years with 4 players being part of that journey and 1 Ian Ashbee captaining and scoring for us in every one of those 4 leagues .
http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/spor...ws/isaac-hayden-proved-hull-doubters-12251146 I just lifted the 9 Championship starts from here
Re Brighton, just reading that there are 8 Championship teams with a higher wage bill than Brighton, so full marks to Chris Hughton.
I like him but he lost his way badly at Norwich and got them relegated after paying 14?? Million for wolfswinkel
They had an awful run in against the top clubs where they got no points . Don't think CH would have made much difference .
Not being here when we were relegated, is not the same as not being responsible for that relegation. When he went, we were already in the relegation zone having only won one of our last fifteen games and our squad simply wasn't good enough.
Indeed, but he wasn't here when we were relegated. From memory wasn't Dowie appointed in late Jan? So he probably only had a few fewer games than Silva.
nah it was near the end of march i think we led at portsmouth and conceded two late goals to lose then lost 4-0 to burnley if i remember
March 17th. Dowie was ****ing useless, but the damage was done before he arrived, Silva's got twice as many games.
It was Bullard. Garcia actually came on and set up our second goal, which should have been the winner, we were the better team that day. I remember leaving that one feeling well pissed off, the stewards were ****ers and we got smash and grabbed. Still, had a decent night out in Brighton after the game.
I thought it was Garcia for the third - Bullard gave away the free kick for their second - in all, a monumental **** up
