    I think Nigel is a close second to Eddie Howe. Howe's record is nothing short of astonishing. I think he may only be able to do it for Bournemouth though, as that is where his motivation is greatest. Which bodes well for the Cherries.

    I'm nervous about a game - and for once it doesn't involve Saints.


    Southend are 5th - three points off automatic promotion. With a game in hand.

    That game is tonight, away to Bury - who are 4th and two points off of the automatic spots.

    Southend level on points with Wycombe for automatic promotion, with just two games left!


    I'd also like to say, now the news is out there, that David Worrall has played on for Southend despite losing his son Noah after just 45 minutes of life.

    That's awful. My condolences to him and his family. But like you said, huge respect and I'm sure he'll dedicate his goal to his son.

    Read an article in the Mirror today about the rise and rise of Bournemouth...similarities to us. Was especially interested to see that they always look at social media activity before considering a player as they want the right sort of person...as well as a good player. I understand we pay a lot of attention to character as well...Osvaldo obviously a blip.

    Appeal what?

    The precedent and rules state that in this instance, where a player played the entire game, and was ineligible - any points gained, are lost.

    I don't see how they can appeal.

    Of course Rotherham have a game in hand over the other two, so three games for them, but if you're down at the bottom of the table it's because you lose often, so the extra game is a slim chance only. However, the other two are in exactly the same position in that they lose a lot too. That single point extra may end up very precious indeed.

    I'm going to miss the Saints game today. :(

    I'm at Roots Hall for Southend vs Luton - full house of just under 11,000. All to play for - I'm nervous for two games on one day, a surreal feeling!
