    As I said earlier, McClaren has indeed left Derby. Reports are he has been sacked after the CEO Sam Rush travelled to America to meet with the club's owners, who wanted him gone after the late-season collapse.

    Derby would suit Adkins down to the ground IMO.

    Been touted for a few jobs now, but not yet taken the plunge into management. It is a bit like Steve Clarke I guess: superb success as an assistant, but can they manage as well as coach?

    Risky move.

    Sheffield Utd have sacked Nigel Clough for failing to get them out of League One. Can't think that was the wisest thing they've done.

    He didn't do a bad job, but I didn't like him, so I'm not too bothered that he has lost his job to be honest.

    Nigel would be a tremendous appointment.

    Confirmation from Derby that they have sacked McClaren. Seems very likely that Clement will take over as Ancelotti will be confirmed as being sacked from Real Madrid tonight.

    I don't know why he would, but I reckon Ashley will stick with Carver. Remember this is an owner that lacks ambition.

    I think he will spend this Summer, he does when he knows he needs to, like when they last nearly went down. He can't afford for them to go down and him lose all his free SD advertising.
