    Stephens going on loan to Boro for a season is a considerable step up from Swindon. Hope he can prove himself at this level!!

    I hope so too.

    To think there were some posters very recently suggesting we didn't need Caulker in as well as a first choice CB because Stephens could be 4th choice!!! Clearly Ron rates him but sensibly wants him tried at the next step up rather than throw him in unnecessarily into the deep end. The only other way would have been to play him against league cup opposition (and then if it didn't work, fans would be moaning we blew a chance if a cup run).

    If we make it to the Europa League group stages, then we are going to have to put out a second string in the League Cup as the demands on the regulars will be monumental in the coming months. In addition to the regular PL matches there would be EL and the international matches. For many, a plane could well be a second home.

    Didn't really know where to put this but for FIFA 16 Fratton Park will be a stadium on the game. This is a tribute to a member of ea staff who recently died of cancer and was a diehard pompey fan. There is even a bunch of flowers on the game behind one of the goals. Brilliant gesture.

    The Football Disciplinary Commission has penalised Blackpool with a 3 point deduction, suspended for 2 years for failing to complete their fixture list last season.

    The Football League had already fined Blackpool £50K last week, and were calling on the commission to award compensation to Huddersfield fans for having to buy tickets and travel to watch 40 odd minutes of football before the abandonment. The commission decided against going that far as it would be unfair to the Blackpool supporters.

    I immediately take issue here. 1] It was a significant section of Blackpool supporters who were protesting [and fair enough given their circumstances], 2] By not compensating Huddersfield Town supporters they kick them in the teeth a second time. a] because they've paid hard earned money to see an event which didn't take place, and b] because they've basically been told they don't have a grievance and therefore don't count. Which is pretty odd when you consider that the sport really wouldn't exist beyond a certain level if it wasn't for them.
    Blackpool supporters, I would suggest, wouldn't be looking for compensation. They just want the owners of their club changed.

    Huddersfield fans should be compensated. Would be up to Blackpool to decide if they wanted to compensate their own fans.
