You're better than me. I'll work on my game before playing there then haha. I'll look into Matfen Hall though. Thanks for the tip!!
I watched it last night, bit of a master class on the greens, just lipped out on the 18th for what would have been a record 62 round. Ball was in all the way up until about a foot then it went right, the man was gutted.
He's such a great player, he showed real class when Justin Rose just beat him that time in the Ryder Cup, great sportsmanship.
Such a shame that Sky have The Open. The final round will never be the same without listening to the magical BBC commentary team of Peter Alliss and Ken Brown. From Sky, that Ewen Murray boils my piss, McGinley bores the arse off me and the ****er man David Livingstone needs shooting
If you are looking for long expensive courses, Close House has been revamped a couple of years ago (not far from Matfen, which I also like). I have not played it yet but hard good reports. There is a new tough 18 holes at Ramside. .Then near smoggies land the course I played today Rockcliffe.. (We were 2 down with 3 to play and I won all 3)
Anyone seen a better standard of golf than what Stenson and Mickelson provided yesterday? I'm 58 and been watching golf a long time, that was awesome, For Mickelson to play as well and get beat is heartbreaking for him, but Stenson was on another level.
Not at the moment Comm, he has been having back issues...no wonder with all that humping he's been doing. I'm really not sure he will ever get back what he had...but he was a great great player and raised the bar for the game as we see it today.
His course is round my way somewhere. There is currently 3 new courses being built. Christ knows how many that will take the total to. But its loads.
Awesome final day yesterday. Would like to have seen Phil M win but you cant take anything away from Henrik, outstanding final round. We played our pairs match and got dumped out, beaten 2 & 1, my partner was as much use as a chocolate tea pot, he had 11 shots off me and came in on 1 hole, suppose that's why he is a high handicapper but his game has gone so bad lately. maybe time for a change?
my mate played yesterday, 5 hour round and it was 28°, he came off the course with a bright red head lol.
typical links course beautiful and a joy to play just for that alone, havent had a swaith for years though, the kids used to follow me .................for the worms btw the course seen at runton is a nine hole one with a tee shot over a huge valley if you dont hit the green it ends up at the bottom (mostly mine)
