Just thinking about Podolski at Arsenal. As I remember, he wasn't any great shakes there. Being at Arsenal makes even great players go very ordinary. They have to leave to get it back. Arshavin never did.
31 goals in 82 games, 27 of which were sub appearances. That's off the top of my head, without looking.
Obviously 'no great shakes' is the wrong description, but I seem to remember him being unhappy most of the time. And I don't remember any big wowee moments. BTW, DTLW, don't defend Arsenal. It makes me feel queasy.
Seemed pretty flat really against a German team who didn't get out of 2nd gear. I think it was good to see a change in formation and a few new faces in the team though. Hoddle kept saying how we deserved a draw yet I don't remember us having a decent shot on target all night. Hart also made a very good save from Sane, so really I think the result was about right.
