So Carlisle face Derby tonight as the 2013/14 League Cup gets underway. Maybe with Derby concentrating on promotion the Cumbrians can cause an upset?

Also hoping the skates beat Posh tomorrow so we can hopefully draw them at St Marys :)

We are going to win this trophy this season, beating Liverpool in the final.

Yes. At least it's given us one good tie. If we could just put the youth out this season that'd be swell.

To be quite honest, we could win the League Cup and I'd have largely forgotten about it by the beginning of the next season. If the extra games are going to damage our performance in non-stupid competitions, no thanks to that.

If we won a Cup at Wembley (JPT doesn't count), I certainly wouldn't forget it in a hurry <ok>

As for damaging other competitions, (assuming you mean league position here, correct me if wrong) last year I was slated for saying I would rather of finished 16th with a cup then 6th with no cup, as I thought that was our best chance of a trophy in many years. I stand by that.

Let's just take one year out from worrying about the league, and just focus on actually bloody winning something.

    PS - Come on Wimbledon!

That weakened team select against Sunderland in the FA Cup put an end to that!

Exactly, and we'll have to do that again if we go for every competition we're entered into.

Disappointed there wasn't much on here tonight, although I guess everyone was talking about Long's imminent move.

Anyway, I went to watch Southend vs Walsall. Conclusions? Ryan Leonard is too good for Southend.

Am I correct in thinking that there are an equal amount of seeds and non-seeds for the second round draw? (If not, no idea where I got that from). If that's the case there's a 1/25 chance we'll draw Pompey?! Though I'm on holiday when the draw takes place so hopefully we can both make it through to a later round :)

I believe the draw is on Sky Sports after the league cup match tonight
