Good Morning. It's Monday 22nd April, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road. Leeds set to offload Gnonto to balance the books Wilfred Gnonto could be set for a Summer move out of Elland Road as Leeds look to balance their books! According to Harrogate journalist (and Leeds fan) Pete O'Rourke, sources close to the club have indicated that the Whites have slapped a £30m price tag of the 20yo Italian International, and will consider close offers. Leeds already have Dan James out wide on the right; a player who has already contributed 14 goals and 9 assists this season, but Gnonto due to his age, and potential has more appeal. Does the move make sense? Gnonto has a very high sell on clause, thought to be in the region of 20%, which would see FC Zurich recoup £6m out of the deal if the asking price was achieved! please log in to view this image Piroe, Bamford or Joseph Leeds travel to the Riverside Stadium this evening, hoping to rediscover their form in-front of goal. Creativity has been poor, and shots on target difficult to come by, since the Whites returned from International Duty a month ago. It is hoped that their nine day rest would give Farke's squad time to recharge their batteries, collect their composure and return to winning ways, but who should lead the line? It's clear from team selection that Farke doesn't fancy Piroe, and whilst Bamford gets into some great positions, his finishing can be woeful, but is Mateo Joseph the answer? The 20yo is yet to start a league game for the Whites, could tonight be the night? please log in to view this image Leeds to cut their losses on Arronson Leeds look set to cut their losses, and rid themselves of USA International Brenden Arronson this Summer! It's been almost two years since he joined the Whites from RB Salzburg in a £24.7m deal, but after just 28 league starts, it looks like his Elland Road career is over. He was one of the first to jump ship last Summer, with Union Berlin snapping him up on a season long loan without a moments notice; a decision they now regret. With a 'Whoscored' rating of just 6.30, and 1014 minutes of game time under his belt, the midfielder has slipped down to 22nd in the register of what is a very poor side. Leeds will be looking for offers in the region of £10m for the 23yo! please log in to view this image
Good morning everyone In a match of such importance we need to score, so for me only answer is Joseph to start ahead of the miss firing Piroe and certainly Bamford tonight. The more minutes Joseph has been given in his brief appearances the better and more dangerous he has looked to me. We are still in the mix but a defeat tonight would almost certainly be the end of the auto's for us. For Bamford to start would be unfair to him and US, because if he missed one of his sitters, --- well could you imagine the backlash So tonight for me (if Joseph doesn't start) i will be hiding behind the sofa with a very large rum and coke.
International breaks, who needs them? Who would have thought the last one would have had such a bad influence on us. Need to go out and enjoy our football tonight, try not to walk the ball in the net but catch them unawares and shoot from outside the box. The ball may end up in the net then!
Yes the international break upset our momentum but the squad should be good enough, particularly in this league, to withstand any setbacks. Unfortunately the players don’t seem mentally strong enough, which doesn’t bode well for the run in and possible playoffs.
The playoffs are a privilege! Oh and the Football League's corrupt... https://www.efl.com/news/2024/april/21/efl-statement--/

We're all the same. We criticise it when decisions go against us but its great when we get the decisions
If we get promoted Piroe suddenly becomes worth £18m. We’ll be back in the driving seat with the loan rats If we need to honestly sell Gnonto to balance the books then we’re in for a rough season as we need some investment in order to not have a repeat of our last visit
THeres the same chance of someone paying 18m for Bamford as Piroe and that's none. Two absolutely awful strikers even in the Championship. I'll bet if promoted those two will still be on the books with fans making excuses for them. Joseph can't be any great shakes either as he can't get in side ahead of either of the useless lumps
