Good Morning. It's Wednesday 8th May, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road Leeds to retain Stuart Dallas' services During a recent Supporter Advisory Board meeting, Leeds Utd retaining his services, but not as a player! Chief Executive Angus Kinnear revealed the club were in talks with Stuart Dallas regarding The 33yo retired from professional football last month, two years after breaking his leg against Manchester City. Subsequent knee issues made it impossible for the former Northern Ireland International to return to action, and called time on his nine year Elland Road career, two caps short of his 250th appearance for the Whites! Kinnear wasn't clear on what the club had lined up for Stuey, but it would make sense that with his experience, both as a mentor for the youngsters and as a player himself, a coaching role at Thorp Arch would make sense. please log in to view this image Stats are not on Leeds side Leeds Utd will have to achieve something that has never been done before, if they want to win promotion back to the Premier League. With four losses from their last six games, the form that Daniel Farke's side are showing is that of relegation, 22nd to be precise. No Championship side in the history of the play-offs has ever won promotion after such a terrible run of form during the season finale as LUFCDATE explains:- "Taken a look at the form (last 6) of every second tier side that has been promoted through the play-offs in a 46-game season and included this year’s contenders. An average points return of 11.6 (Leeds have 4). No side has ever been promoted after 4 defeats in their last 6." please log in to view this image
Good morning all Sorry lads i do not feel we will buck that trend, we had our chance multiple times over the last six games and all but the Boro game blew the lot of them, yes i am being negative, but also a realist. One thing i have learned being a Leeds fan all these years, is that old adage (it's the hope that kills)
Morning all, We’ve no chance of winning the playoffs. I used to be overly optimistic but Leeds United have well and truly knocked that out of me and now I’m just realistically pessimistic. Compared to other stuff that happens in life, not going up this season is not the end of the world tbf. I’d just be happy to never see Leeds wear that monstrosity of a pink kit ever again. All yellow away next season. Oh and bring back sock tags
I didn’t need to finish reading that to know what the answer was what’s the most points to be earned in a Championship season and not Go up I wonder?
I think we hold the joint record of 90 points with Sunderland. Are there any Sunderland fans on here that could confirm this?
Wakefield AFC got 97 points this season and finished 4th..we got knocked out of the play offs on Saturday... Does this seem familiar.
Maybe, just maybe, DF had a cunning plan in that taking such dreadful form into the playoffs would take all the pressure off the boys, because few now believe we are favourites for the Prem. Think he’s achieve the first bit of the plan quite successfully.
Next highest after the above is 2011/12 season, Huddersfield won the play off final despite finishing on 81 points, 9 points behind Sheff Utd
Ok I love stats, every one knows it, but we all know it proves nothing, it just gives an indication Blackburn got promoted to the Premier League via winning the play offs having having Won 2 Drawn 2 and Lost 6 of their last 10 league games Given that our record for the last 10 league games is W 4 D 2 L 4, teams with worst form than us have won the playoffs The closest I can find to just only counting the last 6 games is Bolton who won the play offs having completed their Championship Season with Won 1 Drawn 2 Lost 3 At the end of the day there is nothing we can do about it, we most probably will all still be here this time next year no matter what League we end up playing in
