I was more interested in getting over the point but yes it was Lowe and not Cortese. I have edited now and thank you for the reminder.

Without the product on the field, a bigger stadium is irrelevant.
It is going to take couple of years for the club to pay back Kat for the staple wood campus.

I agree that a new stadium should be part of a long term plan, but it's not something for at least the next five years(probably longer)

I know what you are saying but I'm not sure why I should be bothered about people who don't give a monkey's about football.

I'd be happy to see him go if it weren't for the fact that there is still no guarantee that Jay Rod will ever get properly fit again or that Austin has what it takes.

A loan move for Chambers with an option to buy makes all the sense in the world, methinks.

Not sure about that. Its a bit like an invasive species, next thing you know a bids on the table for one of the others, sneaky Wenger. CC made a choice, I don't think we need to help him develop anymore, & I don't think we'd benefit from it either. Thanks, but no.

Simply because he might generate new supporters and gets the profile of the club into areas other than football. New supporters don't come from a prime pool of people who are ready made and all knowledgeable about football. They are kids, teenagers or adults who want to be excited about something. Graziano has celebrity looks and habits, and when people talk about him it's not necessarily within the framework of football. So, whereas you might not care about attracting attention to the football club, the club might care.

Gotta love the 2+2ing going on eh beef? "The Dutchman sent scouts to watch the defender star in the Three Lions' under 21 Toulon Tournament success last week".... Or we could've sent scouts to the tournament to keep tabs on the progress of JWP, Targett, & Stephens.

And I would imagine there were scouts from every Premier League club, not just Saints.

A bigger stadium would not be irrelevant whatever happens on the pitch. Depending what the plans would involve, a stadium with a hotel, casino, conference facilities etc provides an asset that generates revenue every day of the week, not just match day sales. Look at Wasps becoming the richest rugby club in the world after moving to the Ricoh

I'd read that the capacity was going to be 26,000, but presumably that was a later propsal. As said before, a 2,600 increase in capacity over the 100 years. [The Dell max 30,000 - St Mary's max 32,689] is not really making the use a much bigger potential in the catchment area, irrespective of whether the capacity of The Dell gradually reduced to 15,575 until shut. I totally agree that the capacity has got to rise within the next 5-10 years, and people will undoubtedly fill it, as the profile of the club gets bigger.

The Swans have the same problem and have quickly discovered that - while they're in the Premiership - they could increase the size of Liberty and they'd fill it every game but what would happen if they drop to the Championship?

If there is enough room for such an enterprise in west quay on the site of the current Leisure world then that could be a realistic ambition

Echo giving its thoughts on the contracts of a few of our current players. Mostly well known stuff (Wanyama wants out, Pelle likely to leave) the only surprise was this:

That seems a little odd. He's improved massively over course of the season, was a regular in our starting eleven and I cant imagine he'd have any kind of massive wage demands.

Martina isn't good enough for where we want to be. He adapted superbly over the season and did a good job. He became a bit of a cult favourite and I think that was down to the very low expectations. When he played those early summer friendlies, he didn't look like a footballer. Koeman and the staff have done well to get him playing much better, however if we take off our romantic glasses (and despite him having had a decent run at the end of the season) he is not good enough for where we are going.

I stand to get battered now, but that's my view. I loved having him in the team and he had some good games, but in the cold light of day, we need a new RB unless one of the youngsters is ready.

That goal against Arsenal will live forever though.
