Would be interesting though. As you say it would be speculation, but it would be interesting to speculate which clubs would survive which clubs would take a hit (not necessarily leading to bankruptcy). Some clubs would obviously cope better than others.

Only in terms of hiring managers and that's because they've been naive, idealistic and apparently didn't learn anything from Paul Hart circa 2009. In terms of the commercial and financial aspect of running the club, they have been brilliant. As for the pitch, the company that was contracted to lay it ballsed up, but they agreed to relay it this summer at no additional cost, so not ideal but hardly a disaster.

Plus, if we're successful we'll get way more than 14, probably more like 17 or 18k. Maybe more, I don't know, we haven't been remotely successful since we've been in League 2 so I don't know how far we can grow. What I know is that even when we're ****, we've been drawing in crowds of 14/15k, and during our poor run of form under Ritchie Barker, we got 17k for one game...

I rather suspect the results would be the same actually PL, because the clubs in the list are self-sustaining in the main. Which is kinda the point!

I'm pretty sure at least some of those clubs are heavily subsidised by owners, for example Levy at Spurs and the owner at Bournemouth

Levy isn't the owner at Spurs. He is just the mouth piece and a horrible slimy one at that.

I admire your optimism 1898, but where is the money going to come from?, you need a rich investor to compete at the top these days.

Unless you somehow manage to attract a rich owner, I can't see you ever getting above league one. To get the the championship would be a huge achievement. To get to the Premier League.. Impossible with your infrastructure IMO.

How about everyone just ignores the sad/lonely/petty/miserable skate and gets on with their lives.

Its so much more fun to be a saints fan and know that somewhere in pompey some pie stained, 400 pounder is fuming about our success and thrashing the keyboard on his wonky out-of-date laptop.

Egggggggggsactly. It's our way of doing business. A prize for the boy at the back. Odd that you say it like it's a bad thing, being stable.

Spurs aren't heavily subsidised. The club makes a profit most seasons and made an enormous one recently.

Of course I don't expect with the current set-up to get to the Premier League. The way I see it the plan for the next few years or so is Cook to get us back to the Championship, which I don't think is an unreasonable expectation considering our size and prestige (the likes of Rotherham and Brentford are playing in the Championship for God's sake). Once we're stabilised in the Championship again then I hope an outside investor will come in to make the next step-up. Honestly if ****ing Bournemouth can get into the Premier League anyone can.

You have a very vivid imagination, don't you? You should write children's stories.

Sounds painful. It's tough what they have to put up with in the navy.
