    JERSEY BEAN 14/1 Warwick 4:35
Possibly not the obvious choice in a nice looking race but this one ticks a lot of boxes.
The yard do well in bumpers.
Mum was placed in a bumper.
The trainer has trained two siblings so obviously knows the family well.
Half sister Mischievous Milly was a runner up on her bumper debut and went on to be a very smart hurdler.
Half brother Robinesse won his bumper debut.
    14/1 looks generous now huh!

Whats your take on the 5:10 race please? I quite like the look of Bombers Moon 7/1 for NTD although the favourite could be quite decent, the absence puts me off that one

Jersey Bean a non runner so I am now piling on the double WHISKEY IN THE JAR and WHOSHOTWHO. Cannot ignore that Kempton race that has turned out to be very decent form.

Deauville Crystal is improving with every race. Ran a blinder at Sandown and the win on Saturday looked a marked step up again. Difficult to oppose.

I like Evening Hush for this, very highly regarded by the yard two very good second places including behind Defi Du Seuil, ran no sort of race in the Triumph last time out but i'm willing to take a leap of faith and write that one off and now and aimed at a more realistic target i'm confident it can go close. Price a little too skinny at 7/2 but still not bad. Looks a decent race though

Pricewise has, this morn, put up ‘the hope of the county’ Fair Eva, what a lovely name for a filly by the way, for the 1,000 Guineas. He recommended the old girl at 16/1. Now a best priced 12/1 and just 10’s available with some bookie chappies.

Come on, come on, what's the forum coming to ? Where are the (non)runner-bean jokes ? Where's the jersey/make a good jumper repartee ?
The much-missed Eez would have had this page on fire with his lightning wit by now (does anyone remember when his cat Bunty beat him in a weekly naps competition ?)

Ah eez, King of the Sunday Shotgun. A genius who is truly missed. His blog used to have me is stitches, I tried googling it the other day but couldn't find it.

I trust you and Frau Rilke are well Rainer?

Both in good nick, thanks, Oddy. First great-grandchild expected next month (same week as Bob's happy event,if I remember rightly).
I raise a glass to Eez the evening before every classic, and I hope his spirit lives on somewhere in the Fens.

Thought he might have a good day looking at the cards last night, but aint backed any of them!!

On another note, I placed a tenner each way spring double bet about 10 days ago.
Donncha and The Last Samuri. 25/1 and 16/1.
I see Donncha has Spencer booked ( Could very well suit the horse) and it's been backed down to 7/1.
all they have to is win now, although I'd be happy with places. Paying 5 places in national!!!!

How and why is oriental relations 28/1
Oriental was a nk behind second fav fast track in January who carries 3lbs more than that race. The fav dubai one is very good but still has to answer a few questions and can only take up one place .
I know it is a big ask for the win but with a big price on the ew bet and the fact that orientals last 5 runs at the track consist of 2 wins 1 second and a third i think its a bet worth taking.
