Apparently he is in advanced talks with Al Jizira.

Don't wanna see him go to be honest.

I agree don't want him to go, could be great in the championship but maybe the time is just right now. No mention of the fee yet though.

Finally he's got the move to one of the world's giant football clubs that he's always longed for.

It's a shame how his career has turned out. Always liked Tiote and if not for injuries he would have been a dominant figure in our team.

Will remember the good periods. Three quick memories:
    1. Dominating Shrek
    2. THE Arsenal goal
    3. His time controlling midfield with Cabaye.

Probably the right time for him to go but THE Tiote will be a miss.

Had one good season and then faded away. Started to get back to somewhere near average last season. Bad discipline record always stopped his progress. No great loss for me. It's time to move on.

Perhaps not his fault but is firmly associated in my mind with the bad old days (i.e., the period before the last 10 weeks of last season). Some good memories but take any reasonable fee available and move on.

Shame but he has wanted out for quite some time to go pick up a big pay check. Nature of the beast these days once they hit 30.

When I read that Tiote was being linked with signing for Al Jazira, I immediately got an image of him being sent to all of the war zones of the world and sorting **** out!

Another player who was 'great on his day'........... but whose 'days' were getting few and far between. Time for the club and player to move on.

Fallen through apparently, on the plus side though Thauvin and Sissoko could be off to Lazio and Real Madrid respectively <laugh><laugh><laugh>

The Thauvin bid has been rejected as its too low. I wouldnt mind seeing Thauvin get some game time, realistically who are we gonna bring in for the same price we sell him who will be as good as Thauvin. I will be the first to admit he has been awful so far, but the kid has great potential and we really need him to knuckle down and get the best out of him, I'm surprised Rafa hasnt given him more game time (that might be to avoid injury). But Southend Away, Anita played the wing, and although Anita is well liked, I would have preferred to play Thauvin there and give him a chance. he can take set pieces, he has pace, very left footed, but he has the ability to tear championship defences apart.

I think will simply be a case of him making it clear he wants to leave at all costs. Those guys aren't going to get a look in under Benitez unless the window shuts. Then he would probably have to re-evaluate. First and foremost you need people who want to be here. He has ability but if he doesn't fancy it and has made it clear he wants no part of it, it is difficult to argue with him being frozen out.

It will simply come down to what him and his agent have told Benitez/the club

    Has he gone yet?
I've been busy camping on the LFC board playing Mafia so haven't hardly been on here. Feel rather behind on all things Toon.

Just seen you had a bid for knockaert turned down by Brighton. Looked a quality player 2nd half of championship season last year and I think next year guy could be playing prem football easily. Very similar style to Mahrez.

Youd ud do well to prize him away this summer though, can't see Brighton selling even for crazy money.
