Fantastic strike from a German legend. England certainly don't deserve to be behind, but you've got to take those chances, particularly at the highest level.
A really encouraging display from England, playing 3 at the back and looking very good in and out of possession. They really didn't deserve to lose, but it was an excellent run out for some of the fringe players.
Thought England played very well, also thought ITV were disgraceful in the way they kept taking the piss out of Podolski. If they had bothered to do a bit of research they would have realised that Podolski is very popular in Germany and is considered one of their Legends. 9 goals in major competitions , no one from England has done that recently ! If Germany wanted to give him a decent farewell then it was upto them, the match was on thier turf. So just felt they could have acknowledged it in more of a decent way. So fitting that he scored the winner.
I saw vardy cheating again, ironically if he hadn't turned into Tom Daly a penalty might have been awarded
I thought it was a good display by England and Southgate seems to be willing to try and experiment with both the system and give younger players a chance. The shape of the team was good and they really seemed to play as a unit. Some of the established team players that have flattered to deceive may now know their days may be numbered...
I am going to see the big World Cup qualifier in the Aviva tonight Ireland V Wales. Looking forward to seeing Gareth Bale in the flesh. Six of us meeting in Temple Bar for a meal and a couple of pre-match drinks. Here's to a good game.
